  • Yes they sure are
  • Yes, they are considered a "concealed weapon."
  • yes, in most countries they are. however in the US, a new type of brass knuckle which is often called "Clear knuckles" (made out of glass) is not illegal.
  • They certainly are in Indiana.
  • I'm not sure about exterior US, but in NY it's illegal to bring it to school. It's considered a weapon.
  • lexan knuckles, made of bulletproof glass, are yet to be declared as illegal, since rather than breaking bone and inflicting sometimes deadly trauma, they are designed to cut flesh, bladly. Brass knuckles are illegal because they are designed to harm a person by fracturing their bones or inflicting death by massive brain trauma, such as by crushing another person's skull. It's only a matter of time until the Fed's pick up on it, but so far, lexan knuckles are the only ones legally allowed to be possessed. brass knuckles are illegal pretty much everywhere in the world, definetly everywhere in the USA. go to www.lexanknuckles.com to find out more about them. REMINDER: Using any device that enhancesd punch force etc. is considered use of a concealed, or deadly, weapon and is punishable by law!!! the only difference between lexan knuckles and brass knuckles is that you will not be charged with a class a or b misdemeanor leading to 6 months in jail or more if you get caught with lexan knuckles in your car or pocket etc. The possession of brass knuckles will at least merit a warning,at most merit 6 months in jail. besides, people that use brass knuckles are losers who can't bring up the honor to fight like a man...though i can understand the use of knuckles as self-defense. It's always a double-side issue, just like with guns etc.
  • Yes, in all the states. Odd law. its not illegal to sell brass knuckles, but it is illegal to possess.
  • They're generally considered a concealed weapon in the United States, subject to the same restrictions as a concealed handgun. Saps also fall into this category. You could EASILY kill someone with them.
  • NOPE. Pretty sure y'all are mistaken. In Texas, you can buy them at the (fairly respected and well kept) Grapevine Mills Mall. They usually have to sell them as "Heavy Duty Belt Buckles" though.
  • well, people say that the bulletproof glass one is more effective, but a brass knuckle is a brass knuckle, im not sure if its illegal, but there fun to use!
  • okay, to stewie_g obviously you could easily kill someone with them that doesnt make them illegal you could easily kill someone with a pencil am i gonna get busted for having one of those?
  • In most state any weapon designed for offense or defense IS illegal specially when concealed and/or carried someplace like a school. Anyone that is foolish enough to believe that simply changing the material that the device is made out of will protect them from legal liability is retarded. As an example of the original poster's stupidity they keep referring to Federal law and Class A and C misdemeanors. This is incorrect, you will be charged under state law, unless you are foolish enough to try to take them aboard commercial aircraft. Bottom Line, Carried concealed, this is a trip to jail.
  • What about Chromed Brass Knuckle Foot Pegs on a motorcycle? They get bolted on and are not quickly removed, Any comments?
  • I just called the police on some punk with brass knuckles, and was told that THEY ARE NOT ILLEGAL if they are NOT CONCEALED. If you just carry them around, supposedly it's not a crime. The police told me that as long as I could see them, they weren't concealed, and therefore weren't illegal. I live in a college town in Virginia, by the way.
  • Brass knuckles are illegal out in public and on the streets they are identified with illegal guerrillas such as gangbangers, Knucks are legal for home defense though such as break ins or domestic violence directed by strangers or non-strangers, Lexan Knucks are a legal imitation they will hardly work for unarmed fighting, thank you, have a nice day, end of blog topic. - Shadow
  • It depends on your state, Wiki had a page about all states and there legality, I live in Ohio, its legal to have as long as its visible, if its concealed you need a concealed weapons permit, obviously assault and use of them can be controversial, but it can be a weapon of defense, same as a taser of some sort.
  • I make jewelry, especially rings that are cast of silver, gold and yes brass and bronze and I have NEVER been able to differentiate between a ring or broad casting that covers the bridge of the upper part of the hand(s)? I make rings that could easily be considered "silver knuckles" or "gold knuckles" (or brass/bronze) but if concealed AND the INTENT is there, that is where you get into trouble! Rings such as I make DO exactly what an illeagal set of "brass Knuckles" "DO" but mine are "art"??!! JerrBear58
  • I've been checking my state law, for i too live in florida, and as far as i know IT IS A FEDERAL OFFENSE FOR A ARMS OR WEPONS DEALER TO DISTRIBUTE LARGE OR EXESSIVE KNIVES, ANY GUNS/ FIREARMS, TASERS, BRASS/CHROME KNUCKLES, OR ANY OTHER WEPAON OF LEATHAL DESINE OR NATURE the state law website, as far as I could find, said that they were an illegal wepon, but i assume that, as another said, you should check with your police office and get a concealed wepon liscenes before carrying one, and if that dosen't work, order them online to a friends adress in a state they ARE legal in and have him send them to you. so in summary, im 13, definatly can't get them legally (but that wont stop me) but if your 18, go to your police or sherrife office and check
  • Some merchants sell them as "paper weights".
  • Who cares...I carry a Glock 30...gets the job done much better than knuckle jewelry.
  • Legal or not, it's much more fun to feed some bastard their own teeth with a set of knuckles. That's just my two cents though.
  • NO, i know this because i just went to a SADD conference yesterday 11/3/09, and while i was there i was talking to a cop and i asked him if brass knuckles were illegal, and he said that they were not illegal, but it would be best not to carry them around.
