That your attitude will decide whether or not you survive difficult times. There are men who have survived hellish encounters because of their attitudes.

Appearance-spin-interpretation or the subjective viewpoint of humans is what defines a society and is considered more important than reality. On an individual level that type of thinking is classified as delusional, all the attitude in the world is not going to help you if you walk in front of a truck or pick the wrong fight. I discussed this with my kid how much got through is another thing.

It's a realistic existential philosophy recognizing interpretation over perception. I'd only explain this to smart, well-grounded adolescents. ;-)
