  • They believe Quran is the word of God. And if this is what's in the Quran, then yes Islam does Breed Violence. Prophet Mohammed was probably just fuc*ing around with people at that time and forgot to tell them that he was making this shit up. He probably died laughing!
  • Religion breeds violence, it's not limited to Islam.
  • You answered your own question in your question.
  • That isn't the ONLY passage that talks about killing people. That's just ONE of them. Hell yes, it breeds violence! I have links from all over the world that clearly shows that Muslims have waged war against everyone on earth who isn't Muslim. ALL OVER THE WORLD. +5
  • Is everything taken absolutely literally? C'Mon! It's a *religious* text, fer chrissakes! Just chock full of allegory, no?! ;-)
  • It's a Religion. They all breed violence.
  • It's not as you think thus "Ayah" is about The battle Not in peace case Mr. ! See thus link :- http://www.muslimaccess.com/articles/jihad/kill_the_infidels.asp

  • Yeah all religion separates humanity. All religion is a disease of the mind of our people and it is up to us the help them. . One day, in the next 1000years, all religion will be outlawed.
  • Yes it does but so does other religions. They're all just fairytales in my opinion.
  • LOL WHAT HAPPENED THE REST OF THE VERSE???? But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, an seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war); but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practice regular charity, then open the way for them: for Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. • Islam Breeds violence, everyone knows it. Some people just try to be politically correct.
  • "Their children shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes! There houses spoiled, and their wives raped...Dash the young men to pieces...have no pity on the fruit of the womb, the children shall not be spared" -- Isa 13:16-18 Does Christianity promote Violence?
  • First, you need to write the whole passages without cutting one single passage out of its context (as you did). Second, The passages are talking about the Mushrikun (polytheists, pagans, idolaters, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah) of Makkah (Mecca) after the Muslims had conquered it from the Meccan polytheists. Those Meccan polytheists/pagans were in wars with the Muslims for several years. So, Allah oredered his Prophet, Muhammad (peace be upon him), to give them an 'ultimatum' (a peace period of 4 months) and then they should either leave the city (Mecca), or enter Islam, or war. Now, here are the complete related verses: [The Noble Quran 9:1-7] [1] Freedom from (all) obligations (is declared) from Allâh and His Messenger (peace be upon him) to those of the Mushrikûn (polytheists, pagans, idolaters, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh), with whom you made a treaty. [2] So travel freely (O Mushrikûn - See V.2:105) for four months (as you will) throughout the land, but know that you cannot escape (from the Punishment of) Allâh; and Allâh will disgrace the disbelievers. [3] And a declaration from Allâh and His Messenger to mankind on the greatest day (the 10th of Dhul-Hijjah - the 12th month of Islâmic calendar) that Allâh is free from (all) obligations to the Mushrikûn (See V.2:105) and so is His Messenger. So if you (Mushrikûn) repent, it is better for you, but if you turn away, then know that you cannot escape (from the Punishment of) Allâh. And give tidings (O Muhammad (peace be upon him)) of a painful torment to those who disbelieve. [4] Except those of the Mushrikûn (See V.2:105) with whom you have a treaty, and who have not subsequently failed you in aught, nor have supported anyone against you. So fulfill their treaty to them for the end of their term. Surely Allâh loves Al-Mattaqûn (the pious - See V.2:2). [5] Then when the Sacred Months (the 1st, 7th, 11th, and 12th months of the Islâmic calendar) have passed, then kill the Mushrikûn (See V.2:105) wherever you find them, and capture them and besiege them, and lie in wait for them in each and every ambush. But if they repent and perform As-Salât (Iqâmat-as-Salât), and give Zakât, then leave their way free. Verily, Allâh is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. [6] And if anyone of the Mushrikûn (polytheists, idolaters, pagans, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh) seeks your protection then grant him protection so that he may hear the Word of Allâh (the Qur'ân), and then escort him to where he can be secure, that is because they are men who know not. [7] How can there be a covenant with Allâh and with His Messenger for the Mushrikûn (polytheists, idolaters, pagans, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh) except those with whom you made a covenant near Al-Masjid-al-Harâm (at Makkah)? So long as they are true to you, stand you true to them. Verily, Allâh loves Al-Muttaqûn (the pious - see V.2:2).
  • I actually have a slightly different translation :' When the sacred months are over slay the idolaters wherever you find them. Arrest them, besiege them, and lie in ambush everywhere for them. If they repent and take to prayer and render the alms levy allow them to go their way. God is forgiving and mercyful'. It seems it is conversion at all costs or death. The reference to idolatry brings to mind the muslims rotating round the black stone in Mecca, trying to touch it and previously chipping parts of it off to take home with them.
  • Given the evidence: YES!
  • You are quoting selectively. The next line of Surah 9.5 is:"but if they repent and establish regular prayers and practice charity, then open the way for them." Nothing about conversion, only just behavior. In context was about treaty obligations the Muslims had with tribes of pagans. Islam came out of a violent culture and was a significant reform of that culture. +5
  • don't read things out of context and if u really want to know about it, consult an islamic scholar!
  • God's wrath may be administered through people. To use that scripture as to justify killing non believers today would be like taking that bible scripture above and doing the same. Killing in the name of. Jesus was born. Love and tolerance is the best weapon against non believers. Ultimate suffer while knowing God will judge fairly. Hate will breed until the cycle is broken with truth. God bless us all. Every knee will bow. Judge them not for they know not what they do. That's God's job. Pray for the enemy. Your indecision is your bad religion. Didn't Mohommad leave room for a coming savior? Did they miss it? The end will come! The Prince of peace will reign! At least they stand for what they believe, we are all subject to change. All will be revealed. Prepare for WAR! How will you react to unjust trespass? Eternity is at stake.
