I'll assume you meant 46 years ago, making it 1963 not 1964. It was a normal school day, just like any other ... until the announcement came that JFK had been shot in Dallas Texas. After that everyone hurried to crowd around radios and television sets, in horror and disbelief, as the story unfolded. I remember hurrying home to sit in shock and watch as Walter Cronkite gave repeated updates and bulletins of the events. I knew then that the world had changed and would never be the same again. It was a very sad day in history, one that I will never forget.

Going with 46 years ago as you meant, I was not quite born yet. Mom said she did go into false labour when she first heard the news though. I was born about 2 months later.
