I will not kill the person but i will protect my family.
-
In that instance it wouldn't be murder, but rather justifiable homicide.
-
As long as their an adult - in a heartbeat
-
..yes
-
having murdered all my family myself the question is moot
-
No. Wrong is wrong and murder would not keep my family safe. In the heat of passion, I'd kill someone in defense of myself or my family but that isn't murder. Murder is a crime. It's the killing of someone innocent for any variety of reasons and none of them are good. I would never commit murder, no matter what the risks it would put to my family. There's always another way to handle such a thing. Killing another human being is not the answer.

without a moments hesitation +5

I hate to say it, but I think it depends which family member.... I'd have to rationalize somehow.
-
Nope, I would kill someone if they were an immediate threat<self defense> But I would not murder someone to avoid a perceived threat. +5
-
I would protect to the best of my ability and if that meant that someone who was intent on doing us harm died in the process I would not lose any sleep over it - but not premeditated murder; no!
-
Difficult to hypothesize on KILLING, but I probably would try incapacitate them somehow.
-
In face of imminent danger, I would self defend the best I could, not with the intent to kill anyone... In the actual situation adrenaline takes over and you act usually without thinking too much, instinctual. But after the fact, my step mother actually murdered my father, I found out afterward, the only thing is to go through the legal steps.
-
If by murder you mean not self defence but killing an inoccent who is not threatening them, I hope not. . I imagine the character of the person to be killed might have some impact on the decision. . For example, if the preson was Hitler or a drug lord, mass murderer etc.
-
I don't think so.... would I protect my family ,... Hell yeah. Murder has a very negative connotation.
-
If someone was attacking my family or trying to kill, I would murder in self defense.
-
thats called self-defense of others get out of jail free card
-
Murder, no, but shoot someone to protect, yes.
-
I would not kill anyone for it is against my principles. There is more ways to protect ones family without the use of violence.I believe in karma, and the payback will be much worse for karma does not care about the reason for killing, just the act itself.
-
No, but a blind, brain damaged, quadriplegic is still alive.
-
No, I wouldn't murder them. I'd eliminate them. It's not murder if it's defending your family.
-
Depends which family member..... but yes, I could justify that to mmyself.
-
Absolutely with no hesitation.
-
Whatever it takes to keep my family safe...+

Killing in self-defense or defense of one's family is not murder, morally at least. +4

I think I would kill for my family's safety but I'm not sure I would murder for it. There is a huge difference.

Well, I get the question, but murder is not the same thing as defending your family and taking a life out of dire need. Doing so is righteous albeit unfortunate, as no one has the >right< to take the life of another. However if there were literally no other way(which i will personally never believe until I see it, and even then,) then by all means yes. And anyone who says that to children is just lying, there's no way you'd have to kill a child over some other action to resolve it.
