  • 'Braveheart' is to Scotland what 'The last Samurai' is to Japan. Neither movie is an accurate portrayal of the culture of the place and time which they attempted to emulate.

  • I think the purpose of Brave heart was more entertainment than an accurate portrayal of history. But History as we understand it is only a story agreed upon by those in charge.. And I don't think too many people other than Scots would be able to pick up on the historical discrepancies, Like the fact tartan hadn't been invented yet...
  • It's your typical Hollywood misuse of facts. Though Edward Longshanks was a bastard.
