  • First of all, I would stop using the word friend to describe him and I would get as much evidence as I could against this creep. If he is going to play dirty so would I. I would pay a real friend to tell the Courts (because I would get a lawyer and drag his ass to court) that he was there and heard the whole thing. There are such things as verbal contracts and I would pay someone to lie for me. This jerk is playing dirty, so would I and I would sleep peacefully each night. Pay people to act as witnesses and fry the creep.
  • Luke 6:30 Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again. Luke 6:34 And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again. Luke 6:35 But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. I think the right thing would be to forget it. I'm not very sure that I would do that. I have however lent money to a few people which they never returned and I don't bring the subject up unless they ask to borrow a second time.
  • I'd stop being their friend.
  • Bring a lawsuit. Consult with an attorney. In some states you can actually sue for three times the amount in dispute. Don't procrastinate -- there is a statute of limitations.
  • You may be able to take it to court as you had a verbal contract and you acted in good faith. Would be helpful if you had witnesses to back you up. Try a chat with a solicitor, most solicitors will give you some free advice.
