  • There is no time limit that would bar a person from suing you, but you would have an affirmative defense after a certain amount of time (the amount of time varies by the cause of action).
  • Usually it's 3 years for criminal cases but not, to my knowledge, in civil cases (like suing someone). Obviously an extended delay for a lawsuit creates many difficulties in winning the case not the least of which is explaining why you waited so long.
