• Buy a new dishwasher if you are using hot water and a good detergent. it's just not able to clean as it once was for various unknown reasons.

  • G'day Annabethj, Thank you for your question. It sounds as though your diswasher may have reached the end of its useful life. You might want to check the powder and water settings but if it is still playing up after that, I'd go to the store and look at new dishwashers. Regards
  • Find a pin and clean the holes on the sprayer arms - they can become clogged. Also using a scouring pad clean all of the door seals including the one at the base of the door where it opens. Buy a bottle of dishwasher cleaning agent and use as directed. You never know
  • I'm with you about buying a new one. However, after doing the bleach and vinager thing, poking out the holes on the rotating arms and waiting to see the results, we still have dirty dishes. Have to try the suggested bottle of dishwasher treatment, I guess. Then we will bue the new one.
  • Try this: Go to a store and buy a jar of Tang breakfast drink powder. Dampen the interior of your empty dishwasher (start a cycle then stop it as soon as it starts running water). Toss the ENTIRE contents around in the inside of the dishwasher. Let sit for about 10 minutes, then run a complete cycle. Amazingly, this often works. I learned this from 'the Appliance Doctor' on national radio, and it really WORKS!!
  • When I went on holiday to Florida the dishwasher was like this and, when I told the agent for the house, he told me that you have to rinse the dishes before you put them in the dishwasher. Apparently American dishwashers aren't as efficient as European ones.
