I have an original. My gf and I call each other mowsers. When we first met, she had a black cat named claude but she made up all these wacky names for him. Mowsers, mowers, McMowmow, Mewers, puffers, kinker minkers...you get the picture. I found this so hilarious that I started calling her these silly names just to be funny. She started calling me the names back and it stuck. It still cracks me up!

Crumbcake, jack in the box, and jackenheim. Things that seem the least bit endearing to anyone dropping in on the conversation but have idioctic meanings only we can appreciate.

My first real girlfriend called me 'pookie', which was also coincidentally what my mom called me as a child, and so it has remained in my repertoire. This has often mutated into various pookiesque derivatives - Professor pookopolis, pookules (like Hercules), pook-face, prissy polly pookiekins, baron von pooklepus. Generally the behavior at the time determines how the pook- would mutate; it's fairly flexible and personalizable, and pookie is actually a fairly well recognized term of endearment in the UK and Canada. Don't know about the stats. It's great because it makes any act you're carrying out invoke some child-like adorableness. Like if you're trying to be smart, and she calls you professor pookiekins, it makes you laugh at yourself and get off your high horse, but is an endearing way of doing so.
