  • Methuselah - it's in the Bible.
  • Maybe so, but as far as verifiable public records. What do you think it is.
  • Well the oldest peson I've heard of was 126 years old and was female. I don't know much more then that, but my Great-gradmama wants to hold that tittle. She's 84 years old and still runs 5 miles everyday.
  • Methuselah was supposed to have lived just shy of 1000 years.
  • Methusela lived to be 969 years old.
  • Wikipedia records the oldest lady as Jeanne Calment of France (1875–1997), who was aged 122 years and 164 days at the time of her death. Jeanne Calment met Vincent van Gogh when aged 14, and in 1988 this led to her, at age 113, becoming noticed by the media. There are also the names and ages of many others listed http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oldest_people But it is possible that there are many older than these, it is just that the records are not available to confirm their exact age. eg I Gusti Nyoman Lempad of Bali was almost certainly 118 when he died in 1798, based on the age he knew he was when the Battle of Badung took place in 1906. If this is true for him, what of the unconfirmed ages of people in the Hunza region, in Georgia and in Corsica? One of my ancestors in the middle ages was supposed to have been 108 when he died, which is a phenomenal age for the period. Then there are the biblical heroes found in Genesis, some of whom approach 1000 years old. eg Methuselah who was 969. Most modern people scoff at such ages, but there are people of science who admit the possibility.
