Anything - NO - I don't think so

My puppy and my 3 kitties. I'd rather give my life and know they would be ok, then let them experience any pain. My cats are all rescue kitties and have had extremely difficult lives before me. I would never let anyone put them through that again. And my puppy is just so cute. :)

I value my life more than stuff, or "-isms," or ideas.

My Family, and God.

Yes, I would die for my family no question. I would die to save someone else. I would die for the sake of Jesus's name. I would die to defend my country because even though it has not always acted rightly it has the will to do so and I believe that it will so in the end.

I don't think I could die for any cause, no matter how just, or profound. My life is all I have. I would rather live a long life, and do as much as I could before I go.

Surely anything worth dying for, would better be served by living for it (you can't really have any further effect on it once you have died for it, whereas living for it allows you to do more for it). There seem to be a great majority of people that are quite happy for others to die for what they believe in, while they sit back and reap the rewards in safety. This is particularly true of politicians who are quite happy to vote for war, but not quite so keen to go and fight in the war that they believe was so very necessary. Another example are those that are quite happy to kill others for their beliefs (the beliefs of those doing the killing rather than those doing the dying, although both are fairly common too). I would gladly die for social justice (I don't have any family or loved ones left to die for), but refuse point blank to die for political gain of others or company profits (which would be the case if I were to join the military at present). If I knew that my death would improve the lives of people that are being oppressed or mistreated, then I would gladly give it. However, saying all that, given that I freely admit to being actively suicidal, my life, or death, does not really mean that much. I am expecting lots of responses from "patriots" (especially from countries such as America, where they have been raised on the idea that it is their duty to die for their country and for the principles for which it stands, despite the fact that those that really die very rarely are really dying for what they are being told they will be dying for) or nationalists. Most countries play on the patriotism of their citizens to encourage them to die for the "good fo the country", while those encouraging them to do so stay safely at home, surrounded by bodyguards and armour. What always suprises me about these calls for patriots to "lay down their lives for their country" is that those countries are almost always against suicide, so therefore they are saying that it's great to die, as long as you don't get to choose how and when you do it.
