  • Dats a cute question !!! you shouldnt go so fast sweetheart.....anyways the max speed of ur car is when you cross the red mark on the speedometer....the rest of the readings is just to give a sense of completion to the speedonever
  • Sounds like you won't have that license for long.
  • Many things can cause this. One could be the car simply will not go as fast as the speedometer says it will. Many won't. the meter is designed not to peek out. Another could be because the car is old and does not have the compression it once had. another could be that someone has installed a governor on the auto keeping it from going faster than passing speed. Without seeing and checking it out there is no way for me to know why your car will not go faster. You can take it to a professional and have them look at it and they can tell you for certain.
  • The speedo on my old little Mazda goes to 140 mph but I know it will never go that fast unless I strap rockets to it. I can barely reach 100 with it. It depends on your car. If you have a 3 cylinder Metro then 70 mph is as high as you'll probably go on flat ground. If you want to go faster than freeway speeds have a tune-up done on the engine and have the mechanic check to see if your ignition timing is correct or if your timing belt has skipped a tooth. Not only will it run quicker but it will be more efficient as well. You shouldn't be driving over the posted speed limit but it's nice to know that you can travel faster to pass somebody or to avoid an accident.
  • Generally they arrange the speedometer so that the top regular speed, the fastest they expect you to go, is straight up and down, which is quite distinctive. Obviously, they have lower speeds to the left of that, down to zero. What to put on the right? Well, they need to go a bit further because you might go faster than is legal/they expect. But they haven't got anything else to fill that space with, so they just carry the dial round to insane speeds. If yoe ever were driving at the speed, you wouldn't be looking at the speedometer.
  • Sounds like you got your license before you got the rest of your brain. I watched a guy get scraped off the pavement yesterday driving to wally world when he went through the front windshield rear-ending someone at 80. I laugh at those people. The speedometer going to 120 is just an old tradition of analog speedometers.
  • In my opinion, men are impressed by the maximum speed shown on the speedometer.
