Where did my husband put his passport for safekeeping? It's not in the safe, it's not in the freezer.

Well, my husband's idea of "safe-keeping" is in his pants pockets but then he forgets its there and I wash his pants. If your husband is anything like mine, I'd check his pockets.

He put it somewhere it would be really safe. In a place that does not get opened very often have you looked in his toolbox?

Some ideas: - bedside table's drawer - in the filing cabinet, in a file labeled "important documents" or "travel" - at the bank in a lockbox - next to his other precious belongings, like his spare car key or his valuable antique coin or title for his car or documents pertaining to your wedding ring - in his desk drawer - maybe he has it in his pocket right now, and is on his way to an exotic country and you don't know it?

Did you find it yet? Perhaps it is at the bottom of a closet [falls out of pockets], in a car compartment [after last air port visit], bedside table drawer, in with travel photos?

I'm channeling his passport now... Oooooeeeeeeooooooo... (in a strange, passportlike voice) "here I am... its very dark in here and smells like dirty socks..." Anyway, I keep mine with the moneybelt, spare euros, and foreign driver's endorsement in my sock drawer. or the back of the last book he was reading on the last trip.
