Some autopsy go a bit topsy-turvy. Remember Claire Bennets Autopsy? Came back to life!

I would think they would tell you it may take 4 to 6 weeks before the results because they do not want you to be disappointed if other autopsy's are in line of the one your waiting on. I am sure they have several to do or they are just covering their butts in case something else needs to be done that may require test to be sent off.

There are two kinds of autopsies. If no foul play play is suspected, and cause of death can be reached quickly by the examiner, then it only takes a short time.If foul play is suspected OR cause of death cannot immediatly be reached, then the exam takes more time, testing and detective work to determine.Sometimes, the cause of death remains unditermined, and is never found.Other times, the cause of death reached is wrong, but after the body has decomposed, there is hardly any evidence to prove otherwise.*+++++*

Actually, that is the typical length of time when toxicology results are needed. There had been a suggestion that they might rush the results because of the level of attention being paid to Michael Jackson's death, but they're apparently not promising anything out of the ordinary. Remember that, in most cases (like gunshot victims, traffic accident victims, strokes or heart attacks, or people who die while they're in the hospital being treated for a potentially fatal illness) there isn't really any question about what the cause of death was. Those determinations don't take as long. Given the attention in this case, though, it makes sense that the coroner's office wants to make sure they have all their i's dotted and t's crossed.

Michael Jackson is actually an alien shape-changer from another galaxy and the Area 51 guys are understaffed.
