Why do you think so much seventies grittiness is now being parodied, copied or re-made in the cinema of today?

nostalgia. And while a lot of very important things happened in the 60s and 70s, the climate of the day led to a lot of very worthwhile work, art, fashion etc. Though this by no means suggests that it was all good, or that the reliving of it is particularly fantastic.

I think it gives it an added touch of reality. You really feel like your seeing something special.

We tend to keep around what works for whatever reasons in film.

Because all the other eras have been done to death...They wanted to save the Seventies for last because as we all know Disco and Cocaine is a hard thing too wrap your mind around lol
