  • NOPE!! They know me from words on the screen. I am more than words or an avatar. Get to know me in person and YOU LOVE ME!!! (to my haters!) +5
  • Yes, it does annoy me when they do something like that.
  • Not when they assume I'm awesome. But, seriously, not usually because once they get to know me, I prove them otherwise.
  • Hmmm...not really. It's themselves they're making an ass out of
  • Depends on what the assumptions are, if they are actually true, and what the intent of the person sharing them is. But at the end of the day...I could really give a rats ass what anyone thinks of me. Seriously... No one pays my bills. Screw them!
  • Not at all, they're usually right.
  • Yes. Most people make assumptions based, either on misinformation or ignorance. I think the majority of the population is too complex to make snap decisions about anyone.
  • Depends wether it's good ones or bad once I guess, bad ones deffinitely, especially when they're wrong!
  • Yes all the time. On the other hand it is rare to meet strangers or people who dont know us well who dont make any assumptions about you because its the way our minds work. But yes often I dont even bother to explain myself, I just dont like it so I dont get myself involved with them.
  • No. Because I've learned that people are in command of their own thoughts and I'm in command of mine. It's impossible to control another persons thoughts unless they permit it. Likewise, another person cannot control my thoughts unless I allow it. Should I become annoyed by their assumption, than I'm actually allowing them to hijack my own capacity to think and feel the way I choose. That's not smart. If they're assumption is incorrect, I choose instead to take note of their stupidity and feel grateful I'm not that small.
  • It bothers me quite a bit, but I do feel the need to straighten those people out.
  • A little, but I can't control what others think or worry about their ignorance, so it's just not worth the worry.
  • I'm used to it. Most people are ignorant and self important. They make assumptions without looking at the person from all sides and angles. It's usually based on their prejudices and they are usually wrong.
  • yes it can, especially when they misinterpret my motivations
  • ...well, if they assume correctly then big star for them....but no, I don't let stuff like that bother me...
  • It can when it is something important enough & they make the wrong assumptions.
  • Sometimes. But people are going to have their own opinions, no matter what.
  • Yeah it bothers me a bit. I try to brush it off but sometimes I just become so steamed.
  • Yes. I have some disabilities and when I am in public it is obvious that people make many assumptions about me. People in stores ask my able bodied friends questions about what I want instead of me. Some people seem to assume that when I lost my leg I lost my brains, by eyesight, my hearing, my gender, my sexuality, my arms, you name it!
  • everyone makes assumptions about other people ~its natural. i think it is impossible for people not to have an opinion about someone else unless theyre completely self-absorbed, oblivious to and disinterested in others, totally zenlike, or brain dead. i always welcome opinions from friends who know me. it only annoys me when strangers thinking theyre some kind of amateur psychologist think they got you all pegged and pass judgment on you. pshaw. humans are too complex to make those kind of judgments without the full story. makes me laugh. get bent!
  • It depends on the situation, really. Sometimes like I to do the "Jack Sparrow", as in make people assume I'm an idiot but I'll always be two steps ahead of them.
  • Yes, Yes it does!
  • Not at all. It should only bother you if you're concerned about what others think about you. Have the self-confidence to get past that.
  • Not really.. I just make one back and assume s/he is a royal arse!
  • Wow reading all of these responses tells me I have a serious personal issue, I get charging mad and seek out to destroy people who make assumptions about me. to me it means that you dont care to know me so its easier to stick a label on me. I see red and fight dirty when someone does that.
  • Yes, it does. But I sometimes I make it a point to say things out of character. That way only the person acting on the assumption looks like a fool.
  • no it's there loss ,,,well i assume it is,,,
  • People make assumptions about me all the time and I expect it. After all I still walk around like it is 1986, long hair, tight jeans, jean jacket, concert jerseys (when I can find them) What I find even funnier is when they take the time to get to know me they are surprised at who I really am
  • totally, expecially when they are really wrong
  • Not if they are GOOD assumptions!
  • Yes i hate people thinking they know me when they have no clue of who i am or what i like
  • Only when they're right, I hate being transparant!
  • Yes and no.. Yes, because I basically don't want to tell anyone anything anyways, so assumptions come in handy. No because more than always.. people get things wrong about me.
  • No, not at all. They can ass-ume away. It does not change me, and they are often very surprised when they see the real me.
  • It used to but now I expect it because some people just do that in general.
  • Sometimes it's worse than a deliberate insult.
  • yes i hate it and whats so annoying is that so many people do it in general they dont even realise there doing it
  • YES, SINCE I'M ONE OF A KIND. http://www.inventube.com/ooojay/blog/ DONT YOU AGREE.
  • It amuses me. And it also gives me a significant advantage so I thank them for their narrow minds :)
