It was record player first listening to 45's, then 8-track in the car and so on ... But, I've been a music buff since I was a little kid standing in my crib listening to the radio in the kitchen.

We had a Sears Silvertoneยฎ phonograph that played 78 or 33rpm 10" and 12" records. This was pre-vinyl, and the records were stiff and quite breakable. I still remember when my brother sat on my precious Stan Freberg record and shattered it. Ohhh, why did you remind me? <waahhh> :)

On my parents brand new Hi-Fi Stereo System. It was made by Philips (I think) and it had a stereo record player, an AM/FM radio and a colour TV (first on the block), all built into a cabinet the size of a small foreign car. Hope this helps.

The first time I started purposely listening to music, I listened to it on cassettes. This was in the early 80's. A few years later I started collecting recordings, mainly by Richard Clayderman which included cassettes and LP's (records) which were widely available in those days.
