  • Intravenous opioids used in anesthesia, like morphine or fentanyl, can produce itching -- often in the lower nose between the nostrils. General anesthesia, however, does not normally make your nose itch for days. Could it be from adhesive tape above your upper lip to secure an airway, or across the bridge of the nose to cover the eyes?
