No, fortunately I have never had to. I have a good friend, however, who tells of a time many years ago, when he and his wife were newlyweds and had just had a baby. He was paid monthly, it was the last day of the month and they were totally out of money and needed to buy milk for the baby. With great personal angst, they contemplated asking their parents for the critically needed small loan...maybe less than a dollar back then! Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. A good friend stopped by to congratulate them on the birth of the baby...with a card...with $5.00 in it. My friend said it was the greatest gift he, they, ever received...and one that will never be forgotten. End of true story. I like happy endings. :-)

Yes and it was great as we had not eaten in 2 days and I was with baby. I had just gotten out of the military and they were hanging up my bank account and my husband had not found a job yet and we were screwed and We borrowed 2 dollare for bread to eat.But God came through for us.

About a buck for a bag of chips in high school. Other than that, no. Unless you count that my girlfriend and I alternate weeks paying for groceries. I suppose it's like we are borrowing.

Yes. In college. My dorm floor was populated by the poorest guys on the planet. We would share food and cash knowing that in a week or so we would have to borrow cash and food from those same guys. It was a commune.

I am currently in a semi bind and am trying to avoid doing that.I was off work all last year and we are starting to pay for it now.BUT I am working steady and the prospect is that I may be working right through to June.SO it had better turn around soon.Tax return coming soon too!

Yep. I've known poverty and it's a GREAT motivator to do better.

Why would I eat money? (joke)
-
A few times. I've lent money to people more than I have borrowed money for food.
-
Often in my college days when I was not carrying much money, I would borrow change from people to pay for burgers and sodas.
