No, everyone has to do what s/he thinks is right. I would certainly listen to my friend's experience and if it offered any new material to analyze I would do so.

Could be. You'd never know until. But if you respected the dude and he made great arguments and you didn't have a completely closed-off mind (just like the religious types!), anything's possible, correct?! ;-)

I'm agnostic, I figure close enough to answer something like this. If one of my close friends converted to a new religion I would probably take the time to know a bit more about their new beliefs, however would likely still keep my own.

No. It's hard to lose 'faith' in logic and reason.
