I think DOT(.) means Digital Command. So .NET means Digital Commands in iNet. (Not Sure) :)

( . ) means that actually its not a ( . ) its DOT .. that mean.. DOT NET.. its only converted into .Net . that is mean for some thing before there in that .. means .net does not work as a unique.. work with some extension only.. example asp.net vb.net c#.net... that's why it means its not a end.. its a beginning.. that means some things are there before it...
