  • interesting question, the problem with teenagers dropping out of school is that they do it just to get out of school but they don't have a valid alternative to it, a valid and feasible way to develop a good life, contribute to society and develop a healthy and happy self. I've just known of 2 persons, two teenagers that had a way out, one is my brother, he dropped out of school at 17 but he already had a business going on, he was economically independent and showed me that he had the criteria and maturity to have a chance to make it so I said 'god bless you' and I helped my parents understand that that was a good decision.
  • Teenager should stay in school and graduate so that they can get a good job. Even if they were to go to a community college and get their GED, some employers see that as not being as good as an actual diploma.
  • Yes, definitely. There are no benifits of dropping out of school.
  • Well, if you drop out (which is fine - academic pursuits are not for everyone - and many other skills can be gained in the big world) - the only thing I would say is - as long as you then contribute via paid employment - and have some kind of goal - no problem. It is only silly if you leave school to lie around the house and do nothing. I would not leave school until I had something else to go on with (like an apprenticeship or job). Good luck
  • Studies show a Highschool diploma will add about $200,000 in earned income in a lifetime over a non highschool grad. Add the same for college. If for no other reason, the cash.
  • School is more than classrooms and teachers. Its about learning how to learn. Stay in school until you graduate. Then, decide what you want to do, where you want to go, and who you want to take with you. Ask yourself. In 10 years, will your life be any better if you don't finish school?
  • I think some teenagers are not cut out for conventional public, or even private, schools. It has nothing to do with attitude or intelligence; some students just do not thrive in a controlled environment. If you find you are just not motivated, and are feeling depressed or upset about your school, talk to a guidance counselor or your parents. There are options out there for kids who just don't learn at their highest potential in a school setting. Homeschooling and independent study are always great options; you can follow this up by taking your GED, which is rumored to be harder than most of the aptitude tests you wind up taking in regular school. There are cases for and against dropping out, but I think if the negatives outweigh the positives, the student should not be kept in school.
  • Dude. A plumber or electrician can make a killing get your diploma and if you don't want to go academic go to a trades school. (Good grades aren't nessasarily a requirement)
  • should a teenager stay in school?
  • Well, of course it is up to them, but if they want to make good money and make it somewhere in this world I would stay in school.
  • Drop out. The world needs more losers and less successful people
  • Stay in school because the book way and the common sense way together make the best way in life.
  • Traditional School is not for everyone. But I wouldn't recommend dropping out. Continuing your education is very important you may want to try alternative school Technical School internet or homeschooling. Quitting will most likely ruin your life.
