Has anyone heard much about the supplements you can take to get a natural tan? Apparently it allows the body to increase melanin production. Has anyone used it? Did it work? How long for? Would you recommend it?

i never tried it but i will in the future. i never heard of this before i saw this question but they really sound good.

Yes Its just Carotene. Seeing as its the same chemical in Carrots, It goes to reason you turn into a big carrot. It works but remember its going into your system, It doesn't just go where you want to get tan. It turns the palms of your hands, under your nails, Even a little of the whites of our eyes. My daughter tried it years ago as a science expermient for school. The wrinkles of your skin seem to trap it also. And its quite orange, It hasnt been perfected.

My friend used carotene oil as a tanning oil one time and she ended up getting a sunburn cause it made her tan a lot quicker. So if you do use it, be careful how much exposure you get.
