What is the differance between a fire door and a fire exit door and can a fire exit door be left open in the work place during working hours.

A fire door is a door which is built of materials which prevent the spread of fire from one space to another. Fire doors MUST be kept closed. A fire exit is the door you leave through in case of a fire...and can be kept open as it is NOT intended to prevent the spread of fire.
