  • Because he was the most popular candidate. We liked what he had to say and his plans for our countries future.
  • he got more votes than McCain.
  • Because he is a skilled public speaker and said enough of the right things. Also people are fed up with Bush and fear that McCain might be too similar. We'll see if Obama is a man of his word or if he's just another bullshitter like too many of our past presidents. One thing I'm not looking forward to is paying more taxes. I hate being forced to take care of other people.
  • Because he recieved more votes.
  • Since objective journalism is dead, the Obamessiah was elected with the full and active cooperation of the "news" media at almost every level. The decidedly-biased "news" media attacked his competition on queue. The "news" media even used extreme investigative techniques on a poor plumber who made the mistake of asking an honest question. The lapdogs in the "news" media squandered a fantastic amount of money in order to promote the Obama campaign over his opposition, spending nearly twice that of what they spent covering the Republican effort. The also made complete fools of themselves trying to demonize the Governor of Alaska, who had more executive experience that the Democrat Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates COMBINED. Nope. No big deal there either. Then we have ACORN, a criminal enterprise that masquerades as a helpful community assistance program ... using your taxpayer dollars to advance their agenda. They managed to enroll several hundred thousand of fraudulent voter registrations as a repayment for Obama's prior assistance to their efforts. I'm sure that must have helped a bit. Then we have all of the free advertising/endorsement of the Hollyweird left who have helped capture the hearts and minds of the directionless youth of America, so well programmed by our worthless government "education" system. I suppose that I should mention that the Democrats spent nearly TWICE that of the Republicans, quickly dispelling the age-old class-warfare myth that Republicans are wealthy captains of industry, when they clearly are not. You might even say that it was a "joint effort", if you include evidence of the drug-addled minds of many Democrat voters. ;-)
  • Place: Republican Campaign War Room Date: August 2008 Well boys, we're really in the crapper now fer sure. All these billions of dollars of empty assets are heading home to roost, and we're gonna have to bail out some friends. Our debt will be ginormous! Lazear is predicting a recession lasting four years, minimum. God, what a time to be in power! Hey - here's a thought: When Greenspan's shit hit the fan, it landed on Bernanke. We could employ the same tactic. (Confused looks around the table). Hand the reins of power to the democrats - let THEM try and deal with it. HAHAHAHA Brilliant, but . . . how best to throw an election? How about a detestable, addle-pated, running mate, who is a loose cannon and thinks Africa is a country? mouahahahaha (evil laughter echos thru the War Room as scene fades to black)
  • Because the people have spoken! We needed a change and McCain was not it.
  • He is the Right Man , and this is the Right Time in history, because millions of Americans spoke in One Voice with Hope for a New Future. The desire for Hope was stronger than the voices telling people to fear and hate. The message is simple YES WE CAN - choose Hope instead of Hate
  • It has a lot to do with the fact that McCain did everything in his power to help him.
  • In my opinion, three reasons: 1. People were fed up with Republican shennanigans. 2. President-elect Obama is a rather charismatic individual. 3. He had a well-organized political campaign which understood how to make best political use of the Internet.
  • I feel that age was an important factor for McCain. I think that by picking a younger and less qualified running mate, he drew more attention to the fact that he would be the oldest President of the US of all time. I think that the youthful and eloquent Obama seemed to have more energy than McCain, and McCain's choice of a young, inexperienced running mate, drew attention to McCain's biggest question mark. (Could he live through 2 terms?)
  • Because he is Black.
  • He was the guy the electors wanted for the job. I don't believe for a second that he's going to make everything perfect, nor that he even has that kind of intellect or power. Nor do I believe that everything will go straight to hell. Last time I checked we have this thing called checks and balances that ultimately makes the President almost useless when it comes to changing legislation. In short, everyone just needs to STFU, especially because he's not President until January anyway.
  • Besides, nobody wanted a VP dumber than Bush.
  • Because he's the best man for the job. U.S. shows 167 million whites 35 million hispanics 33 million blacks in this country. Obama could not have won this with out all our help. So lets not be sore, I mean did you really want Sara palin to rep the U.S. as Vice Pres. Really??
  • Bush and the World Economy Also he gained the most votes.
  • Everyone wanted a change. McCain didn't try to win. Of the two Obama was the best choice.
  • Your vote counted.
  • Because people felt that it was time for a change.
  • because they liked him, really liked him!!!!
  • He got the majority of the votes. I think considering how things have been going the last couple of terms, most people really wanted and change and not more of the same. This is the personal opinion of an drug-free Democrat!
  • Because he didn't lose it
  • Because the AMerican people were to stupid to catch that he said what he said religionally and his story when he was not on his speech changed to the area. He made impossible promises and offered a nothing platform of change which the US and the world ate up like pigs in slop, what happens to pigs after they are fattened up? What is this defense force he is talking about it sounds a lot like the beginnings of Hitlers SS. Hey what the heck you wanted change well your going to get it America Good luck.
  • He has the best policies so therefor the majority voted for him :) Best man won :D
  • GW Bush
  • He was the lesser of two evils.
  • because america is stupid enough to believe that the republican and democratic parties party are not in bed together and many people are mad at the republican party because of bush.
  • BECAUSE HES A BADASS!
  • Because all the 'Sheep' jumped on the black band wagon - Even though he is not Black
  • Because he got the most votes?
  • He is the better man. and He is not Republican.
  • Because justice was served. :-)
  • People voted for him
  • Because of his grand ideas to turn this nation into a communist country. He will meet all of our needs.
  • Because we voted him in.
  • They wanted to make history, and the media love him too!
  • Because he gave us something to hope for other than: McSame and the Caribou Barbie.
  • Because of George W. Bush. If Kerry or Gore had been president, chances are he would have never won
  • Barack Obama was elected because most Voters were dismayed by the continued loss of American lives in Iraq and Afghanistan five years after victory was declared in Iraq. Some objected to the train loads of dollars being spent to rebuild those countries too. Obama's campaign promised to change direction and solve all of our problems, while cutting taxes for all but the very rich who will pay for every new program. John McCain could not disengage from George Bush's policies because he feels that once your country makes a decision to go to war all should support that position. He calls it patriotism, I call it his blunder. He should have also promised a plan to remove the troops from Iraq in less time. Campaign Promises are usually changed due to later events. He was not able to think on his feet during the debates and I'm confident that a seated position would have not added clarity. His responses during the debates were confused and his posture due to injuries at the hands of North Vietnam interrogators made him look scary. In short any Democrat would have been elected in 2008. It was a vote against Bush more than for the Democrat candidate. That is why the Clintons were so happy in early 2008 and so disappointed when Obama won the nomination. They knew it was a lock.
  • People were tired of President Bush and his rhetoric as well as McCains rhetoric. Obama is charismatic and said all the right things and made all the right promises that, unfortunately, he will never be able to keep nor did he ever intend to keep. He is now selling out this country. The stimulus plan that does nothing but put us further in debt, National Health Care Reform that will not work and will put a lot of people out of work, and making a deal with Russia to eliminate a third of our nuclear arsenal. The Irans and North Koreas of this world are chomping at the bit waiting for this to happen. Obama is leading this country to third world status and cementing his legacy as the worst President this country has ever seen. This man has more power than any president should have. The Congress and Senate simply let him do pretty much what he wants. The German people did this and they ended up with Hitler. What have we ended up with?
  • smooth talker
  • Acorn and voter fraud!
  • I AM NOT a racist but I will probably be considered one for this answer. He is President because of his skin tone. There was a study done that showed there was a massive increase in voter registration between this election and all the others and a very high percentage of new voters were black people that never cared enough about democracy to vote before. Once again I'm not being racist I'm just stating my opinion based on evidence.
  • Because Americans have been trained for decades not to be discriminating, and so they don't discriminate between truth and lies.
  • He obviously got my votes then everyone else...
  • Because a whole lot of dead people voted!
  • Um... because more people voted for him than McCain?
  • Because he carried the vote ... oh, wait a minute, so did Gore so that doesn't explain it.
  • poor competition. The Republicans were doomed from the start by a poor economy after 8 years of Bush. Among the Democrats, the only two major contenders shot themselves in the foot early on. I'm sure if Hillary had a time machine, she would have not let Obama get out to such a big lead and would likely be president now.
  • Maybe because the people of America wanted to prove to the world that they were truly democratic and voted for President Barack Obama because he was the best man for leading them.
  • Because people had their heads up their buts.
  • Because people are stupid and simply DO NOT listen or investigate his shady past and shady associates.
