umm....since Bleach is getting popular lately,i would suggest that anime. Or you can Buy Naruto. Its the best anime i've ever seen for now.(^_^) BUT there's currently 215 episodes and stil on going. That would cost much to you though. okay then if you dont want that you can try Chrno Crusade. that is an awesome anime too!! (o.0) 26 episodes only. (^__^)

My "bookshelf anime" list here has three criteria: great anime, that can be collected in a single reasonably priced set (so about 26 episodes), that has a strong ending. (I specify strong ending because I've been disappointed by quite a few series in the end.. particularly when I bought .hack/sign, loved the beginning, and got to the non-ending that you have to play the video game to understand. ARGH!!! WTF!!! What a waste of money that was.) First, the obvious ones: Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Lain, FLCL, Hellsing (Ultimate Hellsing is better, but it's not complete yet.) Then, try these: -Last Exile -Haibane Renmei -Paranoia Agent -Azumanga Daioh (I adore this show! Really the only anime comedy I enjoy.) -Noir -X -Samurai Champloo -Elfen Lied (VERY gory but good) -Gankutsuou -Boogiepop Phantom -The first DVD of Ergo Proxy (the rest is a serious letdown after that, but the first two episodes are amazing) I also recommend Utena, my favorite series, which is a bit longer than the others here and requires some extra commitment to get past the magical girl stuff and the bishounen and the strangeness but is an incredibly rich series.

Don't buy, download! Oh, and you probably shouldn't ask a question like that seeing as different people have different answers, but anyway... My personal favourite is Rozen Maiden (adventure, supernatrual, comedy, some action, with a touch of drama). Most people would say Naruto, which you can download from saiyanisland.com.

Shoujo Kakumei Utena (Revolutionary Girl Utena). GREAT show. Messed up in SO many different ways. Also extremely surreal. It's a 39-ep series and a movie. Death Note. Equally messed up, but not in the same way. AWESOME show. 37 eps and 2 live-action movies (I have yet to see the movies). Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon. 200 episodes, 3 movies. Do NOT get them dubbed. You will regret it. I don't know about Sailor Moon, but on the video site Veoh.com you can check out episodes of Utena and Death Note- I believe Veoh has the entirety of both TV series.

Death Note, a very intricate plot, but you'll be disappointed in the last episode. I really recommend Rozen Maiden. It's not very famous outside Japan so you may not have heard of it. There's also Bleach, which is very popular in the U.S. as well. Lots of action and fighting. Same as Naruto, but Naruto is more childish than Bleach. Fruits Basket is very cute, funny and I really recommend it if you're looking for a light-hearted feel-good comedy. If Japanese is not your first language, I can give you sites where you can for free download these animes with English subtitles.

(1) I think that Blood+ is really awesome... great action and drama. Adult Swim is playing the last couple episodes in English every Saturday, so be careful not to spoil the series by watching the ending. (2) Deathnote is my next favorite... someone just said the last episode is disappointing (I hope they are wrong when I finally see it), but I think it is well worth watching the series. Both of those are Adult Swim favorites, and they are out in Enlgish now. So if you like English-versions of good anime, those are two great series'.

Depends what you are into, If you like the comedy romance type I suggest Ah my goddess, Fruits Basket, I My Me Strawberry Eggs, Love Hina etc. More deep and epic I would suggest the Studio Ghibli collection, Haibane Renmie that sort of thing. You cant go wrong with any of the above!

Ergo Proxy. Definitely worth buying. Confusing, but not to the point that you are lost, only intrigued. Also philosophical to make your brain hurt a little with incredible art in the opening and ending.

Blood + is good. I've always like the Gundam series.. But stay away from the G Gundam series.. Gundam Wing is good.

Code Geass - Ah! My goddess - Gantz - Ragnarok (is actually good) - Speed Grapher - Shining tears X Wind - Tokyo Underground - Tsubasa : Reservoir Chronicles All amazing animes. The best that I have seen to date, and I know I am missing a few... Code Geass is good as it brings a feel of psychological warfare into it. - Death Note completely destroys this anime, but if you've watched Death Note and you're having some withdrawals, this one is for you. Oh! My Goddess is good as it's a touching romance, with tons of comical relief and some heart-wrenching situations. Gantz has a great loner main character with an impressive inferiority complex, really well developed character base. Ragnarok - although has been bashed quite a bit - definitely brings good values to play, anyone who's played an online mmo of any kind will see how this relates. Speed Grapher has some very good plot and makes some strong moves to support the story on its' way. Not to mention the intense fight scenes. Shining Tears X Wind... I'll be honest, this one isn't too great, I added it mostly for the opening art and overall animation quality. Tokyo Underground is another interesting love story with some great characters with interesting powers to make their love all that much more difficult. Tsubasa : Reservoir Chronicles - If you don't watch this one because it is related to Card Captors in some tiny way, you completely suck. It's by far the best love story I've seen in any anime to date. There's been better ones on pure lovey love standards, but this one brings out the pain of loving someone who doesn't, or cannot love you back. Then while the main character is in the worst pain of his life at losing his only friend (and perhaps more), is forced to fight for her memories when that will in the end, only push her further away from him. This anime is utterly great.

Burst Angel, Trinity Blood and Gunslinger Girls are all really good series. IF you have a Xbox 360, I would recomend getting some anime off of Xbox live. They usually cost 160 Ms points. You get the full episode for a little bit cheaper then buying them on dvd. The onlly down side is that you don't get the specail features and you only get the english dub without subtitles.

Dragonball Z.

Fullmetal Alchemist for sure, it was rated the best anime of 2004 as well as i think 2005. www.watch-fma.com series consists of 51 episodes + one movie (personally i would have liked the show to continue on longer) Naruto is another good one if u want something that u can watch for a long time to come, and never get tired of it. To Love - Ru, which is a relatively new anime with only 8 episodes at the moment, but it is a hilarious and quite a sexy anime if your into that.

Inuyasha, though the last episode of the last season leaves you at a hanger which kind of sucks but I still like it. Bleach, first time through it didn't interest me but then I grew to like it. Naruto, though a lot of people got turned off to him repeatedly saying "Believe it!" the a couple dozen episodes, he stops completely after those some amount of episodes. Cowboy Bebop, Anime about a bounty hunter basically living on hunting people down and getting by just on a minimum. Shows backstory of the main characters and everything. Outlaw Star, Though the only time I saw it was when I was a kid, I really liked it, might want to wikipedia it to get a better story. Gundam Series, there's quite a bit of Gundam series, Basically an anime about people in mech suits going around and shooting each other up, so if you love mechs, I'd advise it (though they may be old they're still awesome). Code Geass, not completely sure if it's been released for DVD yet, but you can watch it on adult swim on Saturdays. Also about mechs, but it may have a better story then the Gundam series. Death Note, about a high school kid that that receives a book of death, and anyone who receives a death note may write anyones name in it and they die instantly or a certain date written, the death notes are carried by being's of another world called "shinigami", or something close to that. Hope that helped out somewhat, these are all anime's I liked and thought they were a good and had a good story. Of course I recommend going to wikipedia to get a better story than what I just gave you (mine was just a minimalistic filler).

If you haven't bought any Naruto, i think it's amazing. They currently have 13 Uncut Box Sets out and are coming out with a fourteenth 5/25. There are also 3 movies i think. And another would be Bleach, sure you've heard of it. They currently have 2 Box Sets out and are coming out with another sometime soon, there is Memories of Nobody which is Bleach later in the series.

Cowboy Bebop and Hellsing wrap up in only a few disks (6 for CB and Hellsing only has 13 episodes). My kids love Bubblegum Crisis, Blue Gender, and Excel Saga (which parodies alot of anime).

try an old school anime called hokuto no ken (also known as fist of the north star). it has some things that street fighter could have gotten its stuff from. let me say that street fighter the first was made in 1987 while hokuto no ken was made in 1983. 4 years before street fighter so dont say im absoluitely wrong.

If liked, look up the novel 'Los Angelus BB Murder Cases) kuroshitsuji- (beautiful art, story, deals with victorian cloaths and has lots of humor-seriouse times-fall in love with the character designs), Host club, nanako 1/2 (cute and cheap) High School Debute- ( love story-my personal favorite. Not sure if available as anime but it is a manga. Look up on OneManga if not available in stores )

Black Cat! Sophisticated. Funny. Action-packed! It's really good. I WOULD suggest Inuyasha, but the damn people never finished it. Bummer.

The best offer in DVD anime purchases is the 2 seasons releases of Mobile Suit Gundam 00 (the new one, set out in AD, different timeline). The story is truly magnificent and the reason for purchasing the DVDs is basically for the high quality. but i dont get why you have to buy, i downloaded alot of anime series DVD rips online!

well one of my favorites is "FATE STAY NIGHT" you wont regret spending money in this one it has magic, action, love, and heroes of all times like king arthur hercules,cu chu lanin and many others.its very complete. if you like gore id say "claymore" or the "hellsing" OVAS not the episodes go for the OVAS and for ehcii go for "to love ru" or "rosario vampire" if you like sci fi id say "gost in the shell" you could say its the beginning of matrix and if you like naruto or bleach but you want something new go for "soul eater" its very original it has comedy, action scenes, and good music try the one you think will work the best for you (id go for the first or the last one but its your choise and all of them are really good)good luck

I guess this really much depends on what kind of anime you're into... Generally if it's popular, it's good, I.e Bleach (though IMO the manga is MILES better;)) Naruto, Death Note etc etc As far as genre based... Horror/vampire - Hellsing (one of the best animes I've ever seen!) Shoujo/girlie - Fruits Basket Shounen ai - go for Gravitation ^_^ Adventure/Action - Orphen Revenge, General all round awesomeness - Shaman King, and I've heard Ruruoni Kenshin is good :) Personally I prefer Manga, :) in which field I can recommend Immortal Rain and Flame of Recca :)

Mushi Shi -- about a Mushi master, Mushi being strange organisms, whose interaction with humans doesn't usually end well for the latter, though occasionally they may disagree (like the woman who would grow old every night and become rejuvenated in the morning). Serial Experiments Lain -- about a girl (Lain) whose alter personality of sorts lives in the internet, and all sorts of strangeness. Vampire Princess Miyu -- I suggest watch the TV show, not the OVA, since the characters in the OVA are more stereotypical and not very developed (IMO). Though don't watch it if you feel like happy things -- most of the episodes end sadly. Cowboy Bebop -- guy going around through space, chasing criminals, etc.
