  • i don't know the recipe but yes it is still out there
  • I found a few different recipes for you. The first one appears to be the most simple, but the last one is the one that looks most like the one I learned in culinary school, and most like the one used by a local restaurant that once gave us their recipes... Enjoy! ---------------------------- From http://www.cooks.com/rec/view/0,1615,155184-255198,00.html GREEN GODDESS SALAD DRESSING 1/2 c mayonnaise 2 tbsp. chopped chives 2 tbsp. chopped parsley 1 tbsp. lemon juice 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce 1/4 tsp. dry mustard 1/4 tsp. finely chopped garlic Combine all ingredients and mix thoroughly. Makes 1/2 cup. ------------------------------- From: http://southernfood.about.com/od/saladdressings/r/bl30812a.htm GREEN GODDESS DRESSING INGREDIENTS: 1 cup mayonnaise 1/2 cup sour cream 3 tablespoons tarragon vinegar 1 tablespoon lemon juice 1/3 cup finely chopped parsley 3 tablespoons finely minced onion 3 tablespoons mashed anchovy fillets 1 tablespoon chopped chives 2 teaspoon chopped capers 1 clove garlic, minced 1/8 teaspoon salt 1/8 teaspoon pepper PREPARATION: Blend thoroughly all ingredients; cover Green Goddess Dressing tightly and refrigerate for 3 to 4 hours before using. ------------------------------- From: http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2005/10/green-goddess-beckons.html Green Goddess Dressing 1 bunch green onion, ends trimmed 10 sprigs parsley, stems removed 6 sprigs fresh thyme 2 tsp. dry tarragon 5 sprigs fresh dill 5 anchovy fillets 1 c. mayo 3/4 c. sour cream 3/4 c. white or red wine vinegar 1 T. sugar 2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. ground black pepper 2-3 cloves garlic Throw all ingredients in a blender (preferably rinsed of margarita residue), and blend, blend, blend. If you've got time, let it sit overnight - this helps marry the flavors and enhances the tarragon. Transfer the dressing, rinse blender well and resume margaritas while waiting to serve Green Goddess on your favorite salad, as a veggie dip, or as a sauce for fish or chicken. If refrigerated it will last up to a week or more.
  • Vermont Country Store online still has it. Pretty pricey, though...$13-something for 2 bottles, plus shipping. Amazon.com has it too. I bought a case of 6 a few months ago; thought it was worth it. I was right, it's gone already. Type "Kraft Green Goddess Dressing" in your search engine and check out your options...
  • My local Albertson's here in AZ stopped carrying it as well. I have written to Kraft to see if they know of another retailer in the Phoenix metro area that carries the dressing. I hope they don't stop making it, it's the only dressing my husband likes! While two of the recipes above call for anchovys, and that is how I remember they used to make Green Goddess at the Velvet Turtle, I still have a bottle of the Kraft dressing here, and it doesn't have anchovies on the label. It looks much closer to the first recipe. I would be curios how it turned out if you care to comment.
