Although everyone thinks it's Steven Hawking with an IQ or slightly over 200, it's actually Marilyn vos Savant with and IQ of 228. Please be sure to note however, that results can very from test to test and from day to day. There is no set way to measure intelligence as there are too many aspects to take into account (memory, problem-solving, etc), so don't put too much faith in your IQ rating. You could easily score 140 on an IQ test and still seem dumber than the dog next door. :-)

These answers of 300 are crap, because they are all estimated. The lady from Parade took a child's IQ test, so that is crap also. I believe that the 180-200 zone is is the area where the world's smartest score. Although it is possible to go above 200, there is no documented proof! There are most likely around 150 people living today with an IQ of 185 and above (Not to brag, butI happen to be one(187)). What IQ test you using? Somebody gets a highest IQ- then somebody else makes up an easy test to make more money. I have taken at least 50 different IQ tests.They are getting easier and easier, to me. The College Board gives 18 years of age and young(and age liars) an easy SAT test. And then they started giving retests- as many as anybody wants.

The highest rating of a person that was very intellectual may have never been recorded. I believe that the prize goes Albert Einstein. I find your question very humorous. Based on some assumptions I have about why you would like to know. Let me list a few ways in which you have not viewed this question: Many psychologists and scientists will not disclose the actual scores of IQ tests. Does a recorded IQ score measure the person’s productive thinking versus their reproductive thinking? How do the recorded IQs measure divergent and convergent thinking ability? Who decided definitively how to measure intelligence? How does an IQ test measure how many ways a person can conceive of something? Should the true record of intelligence be the amount of useful creations, inventions, theories, etc offered by these individuals? Based on that I feel any test that shows that Marilyn Vos Savant (Ask Marilyn Columnist) is more intelligent than Leonardo Da Vinci to be flawed. Recorded IQ is flawed human measurement. The only times I ever received IQ tests were during my times in the hospital when some psychologist wanted to know why therapy was not very effective on me. Because after three different levels of IQ test even repeating the last one twice just to make sure they were reading it right, MMPIs, and other tests. I can tell you that they were very concerned about me and said I measured higher than both of the therapists in the room combined. Alas, they still never told me my actual score. See I had the ability to think of hundreds of clever ways to stay sick. Despite my intelligence I haven’t nor will I likely ever do anything to help humanity in anyway. So I asked myself if I was truly intelligent how come I haven’t thought of a way in which I would enjoy it? If I was truly intelligent why can I not think of clever ways to fool myself out of my bad habits? I was able to find my way out of my insanity by changing how I thought. I think you get the point. Remember Lex Luthor from Superman? I ask you what good was his intelligence. He never thought of a way to do good things with it? I'm fairly certain there is a 200+ IQ score but if you think <0.5% of the population are 140 or above, that means about 4 standard deviations, so 10 points is about 1 deviation, a 200+ score is 10 standard deviations 7σ 99.99999999974 % That's... 74 people in every 100 billion people will have an IQ of over 170, if the assumptions I have made above are correct :)

IQ test alone does not establish inteligence. The really intelignet people are those with IQ of above 160 and at the same time of certain other qualities like orderly mental faculty which allows them to think totally defferently from others and to produce new ideas which others could only wonder. this is fairly difficult as different smart people live during different times and did different iq test that have different difficulty level. But the best test is the culture fair iq test that can measure someone natural intelligence and not the amount of knowledge someone has. The older iq test is not fair for everyone as it only measures knowledge and not real problem solving skill. The culture fair iq test uses pictures and patterns giving some evidence to the answer, and anyone attempting the culture fair test would have all the evidence there to solve the answer, no excuses to say "i never studied, i am lazy to study". Also adult iq is the most important, not childhood iq, because when the child grows to be an adult , they need to redo an iq test to see what their iq is. I would say that William Sidis and Kim Ung Yong and some members of the Giga society are the most intelligent as far as i know, but i don't know who is the one that is smartest of all the people that have lived. We can only point out the smart ones but not the number one as its difficult.

It is a common misconception that Marilyn vos Savant has the highest IQ in the world. Althought "Graendal" is correct that her score is indeed 228, that score is only one of 2 types of IQ scores. By the terms of the IQ scores that most of the people know as our IQ, Marilyn only has an IQ of 186. Thus, the person who has the highest IQ is actually a South Korean by the name of Kim Oong Yong, holding an Guiness Record of an outstanding IQ of 210.

It was 235 and this was the ceiling so far for living adults tested under strict psychological supervision of a very highly qualified psychologist. vos Savant has inflated her IQ- her childhood score in Missouri was 186. Uhm....74 in 100 billion doesn't seem right for 170 IQ - by that calculation very few on the planet would have an IQ that high, never mind higher. Interesting the sceptimism regarding assessing IQ of historical figures based upon achievement rather than the results of an IQ test. There is a line of argument, surely that say's intellectual acheivement is a more substantial measure of intelligence than a test. The advantage of a test is that it gives you a precise figure that you can hang your hat on - but it is otherwise very unreliable and you can practice IQ tests which will enhance your score but not your intelligence.

I guarantee you, the mind is far beyond any of our reaches, it is how we comprehend things, more or less to the understanding of how to react from it. If you are trying to suggest an overall mind sentence, of direct form of intelligence, then your looking at all the wrong people, half of those idiots listed have a common sense rating no better then maybe the average human. I recently re-took it and it seems it's only increased towards the base of 170, which would be false, because I can read people like a book, the questions asked were directed towards Science and Knowledge I have not gotten my hands on, many people can obtain the IQ of 170+ i guarantee you this, it is not as hard as it seems, Ive met many people in my time, within my area alone, who easily test over 150. If you wish to compare reality and understand of life, towards science, books, and numbers, your headed in two different directions. Everyone has there specialties, and many can reach incredible limits to their "knowledge". The Intelligent ones would be an overall approval, they don't really lack any fields, listing people like Albert and Marilyn, is foolish. albert einstien's iq would not have been the record overall. He would have run into the same problem I do as he has the same learning disability as me only flipped. What I mean is that on the literal section of the IQ test I scored a 193 however on the mathmatics based section I scored a 110 so my overall is relativly low, I think its down in the 150s or 160s. So in conclusion Einstien's IQ on the literal based section would have been to low for him to have a record breaking IQ

LOL IQ scores are a Joke. Allow me to easily disprove them. First of all most people have a natural ability, gift, don, and can quickly raise their IQ in those abilities at Genius Levels. IQ test are used to measure basic logic and the processing power of your brain by how fast you can find the answer to trick questions written and mathematical. Yet it is known that the real IQ is more about the persons Imagination rather than their raw computational skills. Most things created would have never been possible without High Imagination IQ's and almost anyone can use math to bring those thoughts to a real beginning and end given enough time and effort. Computers have the calculating power of Super Humans but in reality just do as they are programmed. Sure this has changed more and more over the years with smarter computers but they are still quite challenged when faced with creative processing abilities. God is so much more than calculations and the processing power to calculate them, God works in multiple dimensions, in multiple levels of consciousness and imagination and creativity and sounds and colors ect ect ect. Calculate that Hawking's and all other atheist and you will rediscover Tru Faith and True IQ.
