Is zillion a real number? When I was about 1 or 2 the chances were I thought a zillion was a trillion squared. Would I have been right?

No but you were close, in the US and in modern UK and other countries using the "short scale": A million is a one followed by six zeros. A billion is a one followed by nine zeros. A trillion is a one followed by twelve zeros. A quadrillion is a one followed by 15 zeros. A quintillion is a one followed by 18 zeros. A sextillion is a one followed by 21 zeros. A septillion is a one followed by 24 zeros, which happens to be a trillion squared. "zillion" is a proper word tho, it just means a huge number of no particular size!
