if you talk about textbooks, a burden. if you mean novels, magazine articles, etc. i'd definitely say hobby

Definitely a hobby. An educational hobby. I love reading, the movies, museums, theater, all that stuff.

Well that is a weird question.You should know the answer it is so simple:in school if you had to read something you weren't intrested in but you needed to for book report you felt a huge rock on your shoulder bbut when you read something by choice it's impossible to call it:burden.Different word of the english language-

I have to read everyday, I'm an infomaniac. I love information. And if I find a good book I can barely put it down.

Burden (especially small print.) As a federal employee I have to much crap to read all the time, the government is a good employer but does NOT keep it short and simple.

Depends on the material and the frame of mind! I love to read, but I swear, it can feel awfully burdensome reading work material sometimes!
