A month ago I was out in the garage taking the trash out, when I came back in everything was off, and the kids were freaking out because they were in the middle of watching their shows. Someone had hit a pole with their car, and half of the town had no power for about 2 hours.

Well, I came home from work in the middle of the night. I used to work till like 3AM and I realized I couldn't see my keys. All the lamps in the community were out. So I walked inside. The power was out. Really, I should never be left to my own devices for that long. Without some form of outside entertainment I ended up pretending I was a turtle.

Gee from the answers I have read am I the only one who just went through hurricane Dolly? I was sitting here at my computer reading AB questions when the power went out from the hurricane. that was on Wednesday at 2:30 PM and didn't have power until the following Monday at 12 noon. I want to thank all the many men and women who worked and are still working to get our power back on after Dolly. They worked long and hard in difficult conditions.
-
Funny that you should ask that, because the electricity went out this afternoon when I was trying to vacuum. Bummer!!! I was home.

It was 1991 October 31st and the power was out for 10 days. We, my wife, daughter and I went to our friends house. They invited us over because they had a fireplace and wood stove. We stayed for 7 of those days and had a great time. We got to know each other very well indeed. Played games, slept and ate great food, We were very lucky to have such wonderful friends who were well stocked with food, drink and the most priceless of all commodities, friendship. Thanks for the question. It gave me the opportunity to discuss this beautiful time in my life.
