  • Agar deeps are used with inoculating needles to test for motility of a microorganism. Agar slants are good for growth on a solid media and are like petri plates. The advantage is that they take up less space and are easier to transport. Broth cultures are used to grow large numbers of bacteria in a small space and are also easily transported.
