  • I think so, yeah.
  • Are you asking for yourself or another? If another, would you be worried about your friend or loved one at that weight and height? If so, you have your answer.
  • I'd need pics to tell ya lol. Could go either way.
  • i don't think so
  • It depends on your frame. If you're large or medium boned you'll look too thin.
  • It's a hair low; 125 or less is officially "underweight". I would recommend some fine food. Skip the low-fat stuff.
  • Cutergirl, I'm 5'6" and weigh 130 lbs, and I'm neither fat nor slim. I guess it depends on how big your bones are, but 3" taller and ten pounds less than I am sounds pretty thin.
  • according to a body mass indicator that weight is underweight but right on the border to healthy.
  • Since I can't see you, I'm forced to go by who I know... I'm 5 feet, of a medium frame, not much muscle mass, and I was 123 pounds before I got pregnant. (Now, I'm more like 116.... go figure) Now, my sister (5'6 and probably 95 lbs soaking wet) thought I was on the heavy side... but I wear a size 6, and I don't like my clothes tight. You're about my mother's height, and I consider her terribly skinny at 130 lbs, almost to the point of unhealthy-looking. My skirts have literally fallen OFF of her hips.
  • If you are a girl, maybe. If you are a guy, then yes, you are very underweight. I'm 19, 5'11, and I weigh 180.
  • Not at all. When Michael Jackson was booked into jail he weighed 120 pounds and he was 5'11" so...uuuhmmm, bad example. Never mind. :P I'd say that's somewhat low for 5'9". If their ribs show, if they have sunken cheeks, and if the curvatures of their upper arms are concave instead of convex then IMO they definitely are underweight.
  • If its a woman...here is a guide girl... http://www.healthchecksystems.com/heightweightchart.htm
  • Quite low. However, I believe runway models are supposed to weigh 100 lbs. for 5 feet and one pound for every inch over that. That's because they're supposed to look like moving clothes hangers. 20 years ago a size 6 was a perfect size. Now as women become more powerful, the fashion world has decided that a size 2 is the perfect size. I think it's all related. And some women, being the lemmings that we often are in these areas, fall for it and so no matter how financially successful, are always struggling to be the "perfect" body. Bollocks!
  • It is an extremely low weight... thats what I weigh and I'm Five nine and I;ve been trying to put on some weight and muscle mass..... Its not healthy, Its not attractive... (no boobs... how attractive is that) AND people always ask you if you eat.... which I do like a horse, my weight is due to a medical condition and trust me... its not always fun being skinny... wouldn't you rather fill out a bikini than have it fall off?
  • Not necessarily. I'm 5'9" and I've weighed 120 pounds before (it's the lowest I've ever weighed) and I actually felt my healthiest being at that lower weight. It's funny, modeling agencies told me I needed to lose some pounds before they would consider me. So while it's a low weight, and I wouldn't recommend anyone my height going lower than that (unless they're natually very skinny) pay attention to how the person looks otherwise. (like if they look pale and weak)
  • I hope it is a perfect weight for the height because thats what I am.
  • I wouldn't say so, though I'm 5'9" and 140 pounds and I'm always told that I'm too damned skinny. It depends on the person, I guess.
  • What is your bone frame, small, med or large ? I would say it is a bit low. I am small boned and I weigh about 115 lbs and I am 5.0. Muscle and bones weigh a lot. Height is a factor as well. Only a doctor would say that if you are too low in your weight, etc... Depression causes weight loss due to appetite loss. Have you been eating much? I hope that this helps. Extend your arm in front of your body bending your elbow at a ninety degree angle to your body so that your forearm is parallel to your body. 2. Keep your fingers straight and turn the inside of your wrist towards your body. 3. Place your thumb and index finger on the two prominent bones on either side of your elbow, then measure the distance between the bones with a tape measure or calipers. 4. Compare to the chart below. The chart lists elbow measurements for a medium frame - if your elbow measurement for that particular height is less than the number of inches listed, you are a small frame - if your elbow measurement for that particular height is more than the number of inches listed, your are a large frame. • I would say that's quite thin! 5'9" is quite tall compared to 120 pounds.
  • It depends on the health of the individual in question in my opinion. If you are healthy at that height and weight, no problem. If you have anorexia/bulimia/any other sort of sickness or problem then its not healthy.
  • Your Body Mass Index is 17.7 It's a little low. BMI Categories: Underweight = <18.5 Normal weight = 18.5-24.9 Overweight = 25-29.9 Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/
  • It depends, but I think it's a little scary
  • i am technically underweight but i'm healthy and feel good. i am 5'11 and weigh about 130 pounds. it all depends on how the person feels and eats!
  • Everyone has their own natural healthy range. As long as you don't have any health problems and you don't feel hungry then I think it sounds fine. I'm 5'8" and 110.
  • Yes I do, but then again, I like my women kind of on the large side.
  • if your healthy and strong it sounds fine to me. i am 5'11 and 132-ish. i eat like a cow.
  • Yes it is a low weight.
  • I think so...I'm 5'2.5" and weigh 120, neither skinny or fat. I would recommnend 5 to 6 healthy small meals a day.
  • I guess it depends on your muscle mass and bone structure, but I'm thin and I'm 5'6 and weigh 120. If you're not starving yourself and you feel good, then don't worry about it.
  • bmi is really a guide. it does depend on your body. it could be right on. it could be unhealthy. i'd say look in the mirror and if you can see your ribs go have some avocado or falafel haha or whatever your favorite foods are...
  • For a woman with a small frame that is possibly a perfect weight. (IMO)
  • I must say, That is sooo perfect, to die for ;)
  • For a Male of 5'9" the weight guide would be as follows: Small frame: 67-72 kgs ( 147-158 lbs ). Medium frame: 71-78 kgs ( 156-171 lbs ). Large frame: 75-85 kgs ( 165-187 lbs ). From the above you are underweight. You have extra room to eat more.
  • I would say it is definitely on the low side.
  • yes im 5'9 that would make me look sick
  • The new health buzz is BMI (Body Mass Index) It is an indicator of whether you’re obese or not. There is a weight/height & BMI chart at http://stayinformed.info/health/idealweight.htm . You can get a good idea of where you stand according to what is consider normal.
  • I am 5'8 and 125....I have a very lean thin yet toned figure and still have some hips. I think 120 is the perfect weight but I always get compliments on my body/ass. If you are not a fan of how you look do some workouts with light weights put on a little lean muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat sooo you may gain a little weight and look super in shape!
  • I think it may be underweight. I am 117 and five feet even but I am a healthy and curvy/some may say slim woman. It depends on your frame. Small, medium, large, muscular or not. It may be that you're naturally thin. I would picture someone your height and weight to be fairly thin.
  • It depends on how you look. I am 5'1" and weigh 118 lbs and do not look overweight. However, I would like to loose about 6 lbs. To me you sound very thin.
  • As someone who is actually 5'9", I have to say yes. That is abnormally low. Unless they have a very slight frame, because I have a meduim to large frame (proportioned thatnk goodness) so MY ideal weight is 155-165. Sorry, but at 5'9" and 120lbs, that person is a skeleton and cannot look good in up close.
  • yes! check ur BMI ( u can do that online) and im pretty shure you'll be under weight. the general rule is that at 5ft you should weight 100 lbs and then add 5 lbs for every extra inch of height. I think thats alittle high--i dont fit that test either but i think its a pretty good general range.
  • that is actually fine put you could put on a little more. 120 is a little light for someone who is 5'9.
  • Ukrainian actress Olga Kurylenko is 5'-9.6", 120 lbs. with 34"-23"-35" figure, and she looks fine.
  • i dont think so but maybe you should ask your doctor about it
