  • hey guy if we need to tell you that then no wonder she is addicted to it. beyond that cut the damn plug off the thing
  • Sit down and have a seriolus talk with her, and explain how it's effected your marriage. If you have children, bring them up, too. Have the talk, and if you see no further results, let her know it's still driving you two apart and suggest counseling.
  • She's going to have to do it cold turkey. I had the same addiction about 6 months ago. My husband removed the game from the house.LOL..
  • the sims + sledge hammer + romantic dinner at expensive (very very expensive) restaurant = problem solved
  • Remove yourself from your Answerbag addiction and spend some time with her... that might be a start?
  • You just have to express the problem in terms she understands. Tell her that your social need is running low, and that your gold want is for her to stop playing the game and spend some time with you, making it obvious to her that the aspiration points she will earn from fulfilling this want of yours will ultimately be used for her benefit by you.
  • Ask her to stop playing so you can spend some together if that does'nt work smash the damn disk
  • Stick AB under her nose :D
  • Just hide the game and when she freaks out throw her an intervention
  • Find another game or say something about if or not u like her playing it constantly and otherwise delete the game and block it and hide the downloded disk one and say we got robbed if she was gone during the time you hid it and stuff
  • do you have kids if you do say your kids took it or tell her to do something else insted
  • You should buy some flowers and have a romantic dinner once a week, join a dancing class once a week, go to her mom's house once a week. Then she won't have time to play.
  • Cut the sim by adding some stim.
  • You impregnated her, that is a good start. When the baby arrives, she will have her hands full.
  • Okay maybe she is stressing out over something. I know that when I am flat inside I tend to obsess about something and I have 'done' The Sims, to the extent that I kept computer files of their geneology and cross-referenced them to keep track of who married who etc....way over the top. Then when I get bored with that I start reading often to the exclusion of all else. All I can say is that she may not realise she is even doing it or that there is a problem and perhaps she does and doesn't know what to do about it or where to start. Then again this won't last forever and she will get bored. It usually takes me awhile and then I start getting headaches and I get bored with the game - for awhile. Meantime, try not to get in her face about it as that may make it worse and start fights...try doing something interesting that she can be involved in and invite her to join in...sorry I can't offer anymore but until you and she can understand why this is happening there is probably not alot you can do. Goodluck - my hasband would like to know how it turns out for you - maybe he can try that on me.......roflmao
  • kill her sims, every single one in the whole game, it may not solve the problem, but it will be entertaining for you and if she is truly obsessed she will be distraught BRING HER DOWN THEN also you may become addicted yourself then you wouldn't care as much
  • Don't stop her. Join in instead.
  • say that a bird ate it
  • Pull the plug every time she starts playing then plug her. or do like people do with their kids say you only got an hour a day to play and its either play sims or play with you.
  • break the disk
  • Does she play more Sims than you AB? If yes, ask her if she can limit her Sims time to the amount of your AB time. If you AB more than she Sims, tsk tsk tsk.
  • Lol! I used to be addicted to it to! But after a while, I just got sick of it...sorry dude, I know I'm not much help.
  • Introduce her to a new family, maybe the Browns. lol
  • Make your real life as interesting as the simulated one. I know.. easier said than done. Perhaps pulling the plug would be easier ;)
  • reformat the computer haha that will work for sure XD
  • wait tis the x-box section ummm remove the x-box and give it back to bill gates XD even better didn't read the section heading before but if it was the computer that would be your best bet to bad its not lol
  • LOL!!! I've been there so I can guiltily say, let her have her Sims. Or else introduce her to AnswerBag. But the Sims is a pretty good addiction:-)
  • make it seem as if it doesn't bother you that she never stops playing it, then she might not play as much, and when she does start playing it constantly so she knows how it feels and she won't do it again, might not work though but it's worth a shot.
  • Install Linux
  • Offer her something better. I was thinking that some of your time and attention might be just the ticket. She might be too shocked to take advantage of it at first, so keep trying. Eventually she will see that you are sincere and she will drop the game like the thing it is. We all prefer real life to fantasy if all things are equal!
  • If you pull the plug or smash the disk, you're gonna make her angry. An angry addict of anything isn't pretty. In fact, anger just fuels addiction more often than not. You need to try to understand the why of the addiction before trying to do anything about it so you know exactly what you're dealing with. Then you need to suggest she set some limits. And if she won't then you should. Tell her she can play so long per week and the rest of the time is family time. She has to understand it's for her good and the good of your marriage.
  • You are complaining now, wait till the next version comes out on PS3 :)
  • Or live with the problem and join her.
  • start talking like the sims, and use the same body language as them. At some point she's got to get the point ;) ooorr, join her and make it a social activity :)
  • if it was a huge problem.. id delete it from computer. then throw the game out the window while driving. but if that seems harsh.. then just tell her that its bugging you that she is always playing it. if she cares about your opinion she should back off from it.
  • by uninstaling the game and burning the game!!
  • get her the sims 2. lol
  • Delete the game...
  • I would invite her to a movie or dinner out. She obviously has more fun on the computer than she does with you. You might have to start courting her again, renewed LOVE could do it. You would have to stay with it and keep your LOVE alive so she doesnt fall back into lonliness and get on the sims to find friends.
  • Maybe she thinks sims is similar to you trancing out on meditation. Meditation can be very singular. Somehow you need to choose which and who is more important. If she is your second half, then she is intregal to your success as a psychic. essential to your success. halves dont work by themselves very well.
  • this question was written in jan of this year. do we get an update? you could update your intro i am sure others are interested in your interesting life progressions.
  • Refuse to actually speak to her. Only communicate by means of those annoying, weird sounds that the SIMs make. That should work.
  • To help me understand better what your situation is, could you answer a few questions? First, do you have any idea what "Whoo hoo" is? Second, who does your wife "Whoo hoo" in the Sims? Third, if the character is you, maybe she wants to spend more time with you?
  • Become a Sim and give in to the power of the Sims. Here's a funny Sim video.
  • Hide or throw away the disk and when she is not home delete the game from the computer and tell her that the computer crashed.
  • Think of something funner to do with her ;)
  • throw it away
  • 6 easy steps!!! 1.Get a rather large can, bottle or some kind of container. 2.Fill it with water. 3.Hold your container directly above the computer. 4.Turn your container upside down. 5.Write a note saying: "It wasn't me who poured water on the PC" and then sign it with your real name :-D 6.Have a rest and watch a movie. HOPE THAT HELPS
  • play it with her, if you get good she wont want to play again
  • Play with her! ;D
  • Delete the game's texture files. Then all the walls with flash black and red.
  • delete the saved files on the game
  • VIAGRA!
  • There is nothing you can do, the sims has taken over her mind, it's either time for intervention or just succumb to the sims yourself at least you will be together! It's Not necassarily a bad thing to be addicted to the sims it prepares your mind on how to controll specific situation and come out with different results.
  • hide the game when shes not there. or uninstall it and say the game broke and wont play. or you could block it.
  • Play some of it with her.
  • help her beat the game so she will stop playing it.
  • hahahahha im sorry dude ahumm idk find her a new hobby like reading or hide the game from her and tell her its lost
  • have her play metrowars.com its fun and addicting
  • Delete some files in The Sims folder on your computer so when she tries to open it, it says there is an error.
  • if you feeling like being a smart ass start talking to her like they talk in sims lol
  • Instead of deleting files and blocking the game, you could take the adult approach and ask her to back off of it a bit. Why do you want her to stop, anyway? Is she neglecting something, or just using your computer? :p
  • New Rule. She can only play naked when you're alone with her. If you can't divert her attention from there, seek professional help.
  • You could always play to her addiction by Role Playing with eachother. Let her dress you up and she can tell you how to talk to her, etc...etc...Role playing is fun in real life too and can be very exciting. Who knows. You may just give her a new addiction to take place of the old one.
  • well if u love dis website always go on it and cut the power on it or hide the disk
  • I am actually new to this....first of all I know about the addiction. I am there, I am still there...I even download the cool stuff off of sites like ModtheSims2(talk about addiction)...anyhow, breaking the disc or computer would be the most stupid thing you could ever do...I would feel sorry for my husband if he did that. lol. anyhow, another bad thing to do is make her feel like crap for doing something she obviously really enjoys. So here is what my husband and I did...(we have a baby...they will keep your hands tied, but not that long, I assure you) We have an entertainment room. We have a tv, two computers, and plenty of games. He plays on the internet, I play Sims! He plays Soul Calibur, I still play Sims(my complaint was he is addicted to TV...I found Sims...he complained... this was how we solved it. give it a try!) For the people who would actually try to break the disc or computer...I feel sorry for you. That is horrible...(do not anger a very pregnant wife..it would only end in pain! LOL) oh, and congrads on the new baby! Have FUN! LOL
  • Not sure-but when you figure out how to end that compulsive behavior, maybe you can help me not surf AB so much !
  • Chopping off her fingers might be alittle extrem, but it would solve ur problem
  • Youre on here at three o'clock in the morning (my time) complaining about your wifes addiction?
  • OK heres a secret if it really bothers ya theres a cheatcode that will delete everything from her file i mean everything she will have to start from scratch or quit all together remember only use this if you think she wont kill you.
  • k dude its a video game come down its not like its gunna wreck ur marrige like seriulsy the sims is addicting but games arnt that big of deal maybe try playing it with her one time
  • show her a better game to play like halo3 or anything like sims or make it were the game system wont work
  • You tell your wife that the sims is alright for a game, but you have urges, and if she doesn't complete them, you are gonna get a hooker. oh, or you can just kill her sims, thats always funny too.
  • Show her ur dick
  • Turn on the game, burn all the families with housefires and hide all the game discs. When she asks if you've seen them, (I doubt she'll even ask about her little sim's being burnt to death) just shrug, making a frowny face and tell her you don't know. She might get alittle stressed, she'll get that 'i can't be arsed to do this again' feeling, and never play again. 8D
  • It's really very simple. Chuck out the Sims disk when your wife is out somewhere and then blame it on aliens
  • Have her try World of Warcraft... in no time she won't have any desire to play Sims ever again...lol. But seriously, either play together with her and help her quit, or throw a fake tantrum or 'other woman' threat her way - she'll get the picture. lol.
  • spill a glass of water on the system, then dry it of and when she goes to play it well it won't work^^
  • Your level 65 on this website, don't you think you have a bigger problem?
  • Take disk out, Strawberry Jam the disk, CAREFULLY place the disk back in, and smile while you make some Jam on Toast.... If your been serious however, join her in the game, get better than her at it(whatever you guys do on the sims..) and keep repeating "pwned pwned pwned" until she cant take it anymore. Seriously!
  • You could always start TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' TROLLIN' But thats just an idea.
  • Turn her on to World of Warcraft....and play with her!
  • why dont you get a game that you like and do the same
  • introduce her to World of warcraft, she will stop playing sims :)
  • You can't. I've been going crazy because EA won't let me play it due to a glitch in their payment system!!!!!!!!!
  • Get her away from sims. Buy something you two can both do together. For example, a game board. Or take her out to a nice dinner and confront her.
  • delete the save games, thats the worst thing you can do to a sim player,
  • You have two options, 1. buy her WOW 2. buy her Spore
  • Destroy your computer if it is stopping her from going to church. I heard that the computer is a portal to Hell, and allows the Devil to enter your mind.
  • simple conditioning. hook up the computer keyboard to a minor electroshock therapy device. soon enough the urge will be removed
  • Format the hard drive on your computer and destroy the game. When she asks about it tell her there was a virus and it had to be deleted. Tell her the game was left in the CD-ROM drive and when you took the computer in to get fixed they must have stolen the game. Assure her that you have already reported the theft to the police and are anxiously awaiting detective brown's phone call
  • Get all the cheats for her! I used to be addicted to that game, then i discovered the cheats. Once i used cheats for a while.. a week or 2 later i just got bored. Life becomes boring when its too easy ( a good life lesson i learned) hehe :D
  • spend ur most time with her .. when ever she going to play sim ... tell her 2 do this or make me tea coffe orr ... tell her stop this honey! and think about futher :P think about childrens :P if she dont listin .. slap her!!!!! or cut the sim .... !!!!!!! hehe
  • Complete role reversal haha.
  • well if your wife is choosing video games over you... i think you are the one needing help. lol
  • tell ya wat crash the game!
  • go buy a blood and gore game and play it yourself. dont let her play sims. or use the game to SIMulate a frizbee soring across the road.
  • haha play some kind of joke on her that will skare her!! lol, true fact: spending too much time on the computer or near the tv, the radiations can give you cancer! that might make her slow down on the addiction.
  • quit paying power bill. that'll do it.
  • Tell her her aunt died and that she got her inheritance of $1million dollars and she has togo to China and stay there until the game Sims is gone for ever.
