  • A NES cartridge usually contains 2 Roms (read only memory). One rom is used by the CPU and contains the program and the other rom is used by the PPU (Picture Processing Unit) and contains artwork. Those 2 roms are on separate Busses. The SNES/SFC provided the CPU with 128 KB of Work RAM.
