I guess I would talk louder than I do because I would not be able to hear myself. I would ask to get IM's at work with direction and I would not be answering the telephone. Perhaps I would become good at lip reading. Oh, and I would be happy because I would never hear another sarcastic, hateful voicemail message from my mother.
-
I would miss my CDs and old vinyl albums very much...among other things..but I would learn to live and function with it..or, rather, without it.
-
I faced 1/2 of this challenge 5 years ago when one of my ears stopped hearing for no known reason or treatments to fix it. I worry that the other will go just like that also. I really need to learn sign language so I can continue my life as normally as possible.
-
Well, I've always thought it would be cool to learn how to read lips... sign language would be necessary too, but reading lips would be totally awesome.

Try to cope as well as I can. Join the deaf community and learn to speak their language. I have quite a few friends who know sign language so I could still understand them still:-)

i am almost completly deaf anyway so it would't really matter to me anyway - i can hear with the help of a hearing aid - i think without that i would become very withdrawn - more so than i am now.
-
See, Feel, Taste, and Smell!
-
I would read every book lying around my room that I haven't cracked yet. I would also use the closed-caption feature on my TV 24/7.
-
Enjoy the silence!
-
in all honesty i would actually contemplate suicide, a life with no music would be untollerable for me, also the bleak silence would drive me insane in the long run, sure i'd still be capable of painting & drawing which i adore greatly, but no music to listen to whilst doing so would drive me mad
-
well I am already deaf and I wouldn't trade my deafness to be able to hear.
