  • The worldwide flood that destroyed all life on earth except for Noah, his family, and the animals in the ark occurred in 4990 B.C. In 2 Peter 3 God refers back to this flood and then transitions to the destruction of the universe by fire. In verse 8 God says, "But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day." This is interesting because God told Noah to get inside the ark 7 days before He brought the flood (Genesis 7:4). In verse 8 of 2 Peter 3 we read that interesting Scripture. If we add 7000 to 4990 B.C. (1 day = 1000 years) we arrive at the year 2011 A.D. Is this the year Christ will return as the "Lion of the tribe of Judah" to rapture the saints, destroy the universe bringing judgment on the ungodly, and create a new Heaven and Earth? Remember God told Abraham and Lot before He destroyed Sodom + Gomorrah.

  • The Bible teaches that at the end of the world all the wicked will come under eternal punishment in a place called Hell, and this time may be very near. There is much Biblical evidence that points to the fall of 2011 as the end of the world. • No, to me it's just another date!!!! No one knows when, and I don't want to! I'm ready anytime, and to me that's all that matters!
  • We know NOT when the Master of the House cometh. Sorry to burst all the doomsday sayers' buttons... but coming as "a thief in the night" means we don't get a clue. Thus, no day or time is any more probable than any other. Your only option is to try to be ready at all times, and wait with the rest of us. You're wasting your time trying to outwit God.
  • Well we will see. I am willing, however, to bet a considerable amount of cash on this not happening. In fact I would bet everything I own against it happening. Remember The Great Disappointment? Doomsday dates are rolled out every so often (2012 is the currently popular one) and none have come to pass so far. So based on the correct number of predictions compared against the total number of predictions one would estimate the probability of this occuring to be incredibly small indeed. :)
  • No, the year 2011 AD is not the most probable year for the return of Christ. It is not any more or less probable than any day of the year. The Bible says "no one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father", and, "the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night".
  • Why 2011? Jesus thought it'd be within a lifetime of his Leaving. Peter thought so too. Paul thought it would be within his lifetime. John thought so too. Every single generation of christians since then have believed it'll be within their lifetime and they were in the End Times. Not a good record eh...?
  • No one knows the day or time or year or month or decade or century or millennium, etc. See proof provided by AnaContessa in her previous answer. God wants us to be ready for his coming day or night. The believer is in the world but not of the world, they look forward always to heaven, which we receive because we know and believe that Jesus lived, died and rose for us and did what we couldn't. He took away our sins. What a great comfort no matter when the end comes.
  • Like Jesus said "only the FATHER knows". Like a theif in the night. we aren't supposed to know, just be ready.
  • ---Responding to answer # 3 where the flood took place in 4990 B C, then adding 7,000 years & it ends up to the date in 2011 A D! Wow! ---As far as Jesus coming as a thief, that's for those who are in darkness. (1 Thessalonians 5:4) ---"No one knows the day or hour" is present tense. It doesn't say no one will ever know. Jesus knows now!
  • 2011 does sound like the most probable date of Jesus' return. It is a year, not a day and hour.
  • Nope, currently it is supposed to be December 21st, 2012. This is the date that the Mayan calendar runs out and they have somewhat predicted many things in the past. However according to Nostradamus, it wont happen until 3714. So take ur pick, i personally think they are both full of crap, everyone will be fine, remember Y2K? everything was fine
  • I heard either 24-26 of december of 2011. (sorry I forgot which one) I also heard that we will either burn, freeze, or drown to death.
  • Oh good grief. Yes, why not. Can we have all the other mythical critters turn up on that day, too?
  • No it isn't
  • There's no way to know. Could be tommorow, or in a few hours, or perhaps centuries from now.
  • Oh how history is so full of people asking the same question...when. When the question should be how can I prepare my self by sharing the loving message in the most positive way, keeping open my heart and mind to see the love daily relected in the smiles and confirmed by the glory of God's work...in the simplest flower...the beauty of s snake's skin...the peaceful calm of a setting sun.
  • I'm willing to bet we destroy ourselves before Jesus has any say in the matter. All this is just paranoia. Go through your lives knowing that at any moment, you could die and the world could explode with rivers of blood and you'll be happier than angsting over a particular day and then pushing it back further and further when that day comes with no Horsemen to be seen. It's especially pointless when such fears are based on a book thousands of years old that is argued in regards to validity more than the autobiography of Hillary Clinton.
  • YES. You can read about it on a few sites online like familyradio.com, but I have some information posted on this also at http://www.2011warning.com. Knowing the day and the hour is not saying we can't know the time. We have to consider the whole Bible to find truth. God never brought judgment in the past without revealing it first to a prophet (Noah and Jonah for example). Which is exactly what we read in Amos 3:7.
  • Matthew 24:42 "So be prepared, for you don't know what day your Lord is coming." 25:13 "So stay awake and be prepared, for you do not know the date or moment of MY return."
  • I thought it was 2012! Are you trying to short me a year?
  • UMM NO Why would God give us even a hint of what time Jesus is coming back? Do we even deserve the smallest of clues? Yeah he's gonna let all of us know when he's coming back so we all as a screwed up civilization can run out "get saved" and all go to heaven.
  • Yeah!! And we might even get to meet Micky Mouse while we're there!! I'm excited already. Look forward to seeing you there, Droog.
  • The Bible says that the coming of Christ will be like the days of Noah. Noah certainly knew the date of the flood and the end of the world. Noah was told to get in the ark within 7 days. It just so happens that 2011 AD is exactly 7000 years from the 7th day that Noah entered the ark. Now, we understand why God said a day is as 1000 years. Will you be like those who were destroyed in the flood? Or will you cry to God in the hope that He will save you before 21 May 2011 AD? Lu 17:26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
  • How can we predict the end of time, When Jesus himself doesn't know. Except the Father.
  • Then how come 12 12 2012 is the end of the world according to Mayan prophesy? Answer is not probable as someone's facts are off. http://www.adishakti.org/mayan_end_times_prophecy_12-21-2012.htm
  • The latest in a looong list...
  • three years minus twenty-four hours and counting. earth axis is tilted 23.5 degrees. human chromosome number is 2 pairs of 23. degraded down from 24. each sinner now has two copies of 23 chromosomes. 23 is the number of judgement god ordains. Christ; I came for sinners not the good. first will be last and last will be first. those who say that they are good are the last and those who cry for salvation that they were last are the first. when the fig tree of israel gives forth its leaves then summer is near. even at the door. the river jordan god made thy people of israel wander for 40 years. now israel will test for 40 years from 1948 may 14am from 7 days of may 21. 23 more years to 2011 for 63 total years of which is 7 years less than 70. for those days shall be shortened. And 4990 to 2011 becomes 7000 years for there is no year zero. that first year of earth in 11013 bc to 4990bc is 6023bc years. when we crushed the first world with many cubics. and will add 7000 more years for 2011. 8400 days started in may 21 1988 on the 13000th year of earth. 2011ad from 1988 is 23 years. in 1988 the candle sticks were taken from the churches. that was the church age the number is 144000. 1994ad god would take the church outside his house and into the whole world using his amassed army of profits. 17 years by the numbers of the sand in the sea. for there is no year zero. they will distroy this world in three years. Christ is the way the key and at the door. there is no other way to god but by is son the Christ. Christ demands first rights. Christ is an angry god. though dead in sin yet was made alive in Christ. Three years to become saved. The bible is the living word. no other book is alive. God will save to the day May 21. Then hell on earth for five months to October 21 2011 on the last day. those five months will be the 153 fish caught in the net.
  • It wont be in 2011 because you’ve thought of it for according to Matthew 24:44 Jesus said “for in such an hour AS YE THINK NOT the Son of man cometh” Both Jesus and Mohammed said that no one knows except God Himself. This is how Jesus put it according to Matthew 24:36 “But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only” While HQ 7:187 says “They ask thee about the (final) Hour - when will be its appointed time? Say: "The knowledge thereof is with my Lord (alone): None but He can reveal as to when it will occur. Heavy were its burden through the heavens and the earth. Only, all of a sudden will it come to you." They ask thee as if thou wert eager in search thereof: Say: "The knowledge thereof is with God (alone), but most men know not."”
  • Here's another one. On the winter solstice in 2012, the sun will be aligned with the center of the Milky Way for the first time in 26,000 years. Does that imply December 21, 2012 is Judgement Day? Nope.
  • Please flag this as nonsense, meant to be a comment, my bad.
  • "But of that day or hour, no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be watchful! Be alert! You do not know when the time will come." (Mark 13:32-33) Jesus told us in no uncertain terms that we were not to know when the end of the world would come but that we were always to be ready. Each new Christian denomination seems to worry about the end of the world a bit too much. Then after a couple of centuries, they realize that there are always wars and rumors of wars, etc. I won't even mention the hundreds of false predictions of the end of the world over the centuries, all of which were based on individual interpretations of biblical prophecies. The early Christian Church thought that Jesus was going to return at any moment. Only after a couple of centuries did the Church realize that it may be 2,000 or 4,000 or 8,000 years before Jesus returns. The Catholic Church wisely follows Jesus' advice and teaches that each of us should live as if we will meet our maker in the next ten minutes and that we need to work to make the world a better place for our 100 X great-grandchildren. Do not worry about the end of the world. Trust God to make sure everthing happens to plan. Just be ready to meet God at any time. For more information, about what Catholics believe about the end of the world, see: http://www.americancatholic.org/Newsletters/CU/ac0993.asp With love in Christ.
  • No man knows the day nor the hour.
  • God I hope so. Getting pretty tired of the routine down here.
  • The dude's been dead over 2,000 years. He ain't coming back. Adjust!
  • Pure fantasy. Nothing probably about it. See you in 2012.
  • No more than any other year that religious fanatics have claimed to be Judgment Day.
  • I do not care when the rapture comes, I look forward to it as that is when we will go home to live with the lord in the place where Jesus Christ has prepared for us.
  • No one knows. Revelation says that the time will be kept from us.
  • What is the scriptural reference for this unlikely claim?
  • Just as likely as any other time, not the most probable. I will happily take bets from anyone willing to predict an apolocypse/judgement day.
  • THE ANSWER IS SHOCKINGLY, YES, HE WILL RAPTURE (OR CATCH UP) 1 COR 15:51-53 ONLY THE TRUE BELIEVERS ON MAY 21 2011. THIS IS WHY IT IS SO IMPORTANT TO UNDERSTAND THAT THE BIBLE IS THE AUTHORITY (NOT THE CHURCH AS THEY WOULD LIKE YOU TO BELIEVE). WE HAVE LEARNED EVEN 35 YEARS AGO THAT THE FLOOD OF NOAH'S DAY WAS IN THE YEAR 4990 BC AND THAT HAS NOT BEEN DISPUTED, WHY? BECAUSE WE HAVE VERY ACCURATE KNOWLEDGE OF THE TIMELINE OF HISTORY. CHECK THIS OUT BUT KNOW THAT THERE IS MUCH MUCH MORE TO PROVE THIS "FROM THE BIBLE". COUNT THE YEARS FROM 4990 BC TO 2011 AD THEN SUBRACT 1 BECAUSE THERE IS NO YEAR 0. THIS IS 7000 YEARS. NOW READ GEN 7:4 "FOR YET SEVEN DAYS, AND I WILL CAUSE IT TO RAIN UPON THE EARTH FORTY DAYS AND FORTY NIGHT (EMPHASIS ON SEVEN AGAIN). NOW READ 2 PETER 3:5-10 NOTICE CAREFULLY WHAT IT SAYS HERE, GOD IS TALKING ABOUT THE FLOOD THEN LATER ABOUT THE DESTRUCTION AT THE END OF THE WORLD, BUT CLEVERLY HIDDEN IN THE MIDDLE IS A VERSE WE REALLY DID NOT UNDERSTAND UNTIL NOW, 2 PETER 3:8 SAYS, BUT "BELOVED" (WHEN HE SAYS "BELOVED" HE IS TALKING TO THE THE TRUE BELIEVERS ONLY) BE NOT IGNORANT OF THIS ONE THING (WELL WHAT THING IS THAT, IT MUST BE VERY IMPORTANT) THAT ONE DAY IS WITH THE LORD AS A THOUSAND YEARS, AND A THOUSAND YEARS IS AS ONE DAY. NOW PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT THE HISTORICAL ACCOUNT OF NOAHS ARK IS RECORDED AS A HISTORICAL "PARABLE" DEPICTING THE ACTUAL END OF THE WORLD. SO WHEN GOD SAYS "FOR YET SEVEN DAYS" YOU CAN SUBSTITUTE A THOUSAND YEARS FOR A DAY (FOR GOD TELLS US TO DO THIS) SO YOU HAVE SEVEN THOUSAND YEARS TO GET IN TO THE SAFETY OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. YOU KNOW YOU SHOULD CHECK OUT FAMILY RADIO 5:30-7:00 PM MON-FRI PACIFIC TIME. IF YOU THINK THEY ARE CRAZY YOU ARE NOT ALONE, I THOUGHT HE WAS COOKOO TOO BUT SOME REASON I KEPT LISTENING AND KEPT LISTENING AND TO MY SURPRISE I HAVE FOUND ALL TO BE TRUE IF YOU SEARCH IT OUT FOR YOURSELF IN THE BIBLE. SEEK AND YE SHALL FIND, BUT SEEK HIM WITH YOUR WHOLE HEART. GOOD LUCK, I HOPE YOU MAKE IT.
