  • The less air in the bottle the better but it really doesn't matter. It's the loss of the gas in the free air that makes soda flat. As long as the lid is on tight it doesn't matter to average taste buds.
  • IT does not help. To maintain the integrity of the liquid you would have to not only maintain the pressure on the bottle but maintain it equally and fully on all surfaces...
  • You think way too much, just drink the damn soda.
  • To prevent soda from going flat, you'd need to pressurize the bottle. Crushing the bottle goes slightly in the wrong direction--it creates slightly negative pressure with respect to atmospheric pressure. So, if anything, it would make the soda slightly flatter to crush the bottle.
