  • Yes, you can freeze bread. We actually used to keep our bread in the freezer anyway where I used to live.
  • Sure. It tends to dry it out very slightly, but bread freezes just fine. You can also refrigerate what you're not freezing, to help prolong its life.
  • oh yes you can ...up to 6months I think
  • Yes, I keep my bread in the freezer. It takes me about 3 weeks to finish off a loaf, so that's the only option!
  • Sure you can freeze it. (Make sure to expel as much air as possible so that you don't get ice crystals in the bag or it will be mushy when you thaw it.) Or, if you'd like, you can make your own croutons and breadcrumbs. For croutons: just cut into cubes, spray with no-stick spray or toss in oil/butter, add seasonings if desired, and dry in the oven or microwave until crispy. For bread crumbs: allow to dry, or toast. Place in food processor, pulse until desired texture and size. Add seasonings if desired.
  • Yes. Just gently squeeze out the air from the bag before freezing it...
  • I have the same problem, I keep any extra bread frozen and it toasts just fine right out of the freezer too
  • Yes you can but I just keep the bread in the frig. Good for a couple of weeks. When I want some I just microwave it for about 9 seconds(two slices)and its soft and moist. If you want toast just put it right in the toaster.
  • You don't have to freeze it. It's hard to thaw it once it is frozen. It will be soggy. Just put it in the fridge so it'll chill. Ü
  • Well, we travel a lot and its just the two of us. Yes, you can freeze bread though it never really 'feels' like fresh baked again. However, pita bread, bagels and some others and freezing ing freshly made bread dough BEFORE it rises seems to fare pretty well.
  • Yep, do it all the time, any kind of bread. DOUBLE BAG it and it will thaw like fresh bread. Single bag it and it's garbage. Surprise, you can freeze soft and semi-soft cheese the same way too. (Cheddar, Mozzarella, Jack, Colby, Swiss...) It doesn't seem to work with hard cheeses.
  • If your talking about the loafs you buy at the store? I'll say yes as long as you keep the air out as much as you can. I do it all the time. I'll buy maybe 3 or 4 loafs at a time. And put one in the ice box & the others in the freezer. When time comes I'll most likely take that from the freezer & toast it for I like it better that way. Just my point of view........M.C.S.
  • bread freezes great. If you take a lunch to work, you can make your sandwich on frozen bread the night before and put it in the refrigerator, and by the next day it's just like any other sandwich. Frozen bread also toasts very well, directly from the freezer.
  • Yes you can! We do it all the time at our house. It does dry it out, though.
