Yes...I have a 91 year old father whom I brought across the world to live near me (I'm an only child) after my mother died a few years ago. He is desperately homesick and cannot adjust to life in the 'New World'. ShouldI take him back? Or not? Bothering me constantly...because I love him and want to do right by him.

I really do... :( I know you give good advice Ocean so, how is it best to NOT think about the person? In my case, it's a co-worker who I work closely with on a daily basis. I told her how I felt and she does not feel the same towards me -- It's difficult for me to hide my feelings that I find execuses not to come to work. I can't tell my boss for fear of being embarrased...

Yes, my ex girlfriend is constantly on my mind because we broke up in such a terrible way and on bad terms. Neither one of us could control our emotions and we just got angry. It wasn't a traditional relationship but it was worth it. I miss her terribly but at the same time, she isn't healthy for my sanity. I know non of that made sense.

I once did. I used my memory of that person to make me feel better. For 2 solid weeks, I was able to keep myself flying high on the memories. Then the memories started to lose their power over me. and I eventually stopped thinking of them altogether. I occasionally fantasized about finding them again, but now I just see it as young love. 4 years later, I'm a 31-year-old old person, who has said goodbye to the joys and passions of youth.

Yes and I realized it was lust not love. Two totally different things. Lust is when you want someone passionately and you think about them allday long and daydream about what you want to do with that person. It could be confused sometimes with love.You can usually tell if it's lust when you stop thinking about them after the 1st week or so.

Yes, but he died 16 months ago. I wish I could stop thinking about him but I can not. He told me once that he could live 100 more life times and he would still love me. I don't need 100 more, just this one I am living with out him. If you have someone that you love and who loves you tell them every day make them happy, let them know they are everything and hang on tight. Because when they go the ache lasts a lifetime.

Yes, now I do... I offended him the other day without meaning to, and since then our conversations have been meaning that much more to me. I've only been chattin with him on here for a few weeks, but he is efin hilarious, and has such a way with words. He told me he thinks of me sometimes and hopes I'm smiling, so sometimes when I smile, I think of him and wonder if he's thinking of me. I'm not talking love here. Just a friendship.
