yes and no. Driver and corpse does not make the minimum 2 person rule for most car pool lanes. Now if there was a passenger (living, not the corpse) then yes it can use the car pool lane.

I think police give special allowances to hearses. Also, whenever a hearse drives with a body in it (at least in the UK) it always has at least 2 living people also within it. So yes it would be ok.
-
I would think that they could drive anywhere they liked.
-
Yes, if there are the correct number of living people (or more) for that lane in the vehicle.
-
i would love to be present at that traffic stop. I suspect you have to be alive to qualify as a passenger.
-
Nope. It has been established that pregnant women riding alone cannot claim the fetus as an additional passenger, so it can be reasonably argued that dead people do not count as a passenger. Stiffs are cargo.
-
No. Only living passengers count.
-
There was a case a while back of a pregnate woman getting a ticket. She fought it and won. I don't think you could argue a corpse as a person or passenger.
-
hahaha. wow. i would think so. and what cop is going to seriously pull over a hearse?!
-
Good question....we have some cops onboard AB...I hope they answer!
-
No, because a hearse can't drive. ;) The general idea is to have one vehicle with more than one occupant, instead of having each occupant driving a separate vehicle, thereby reducing congestion and vehicular emissions. However, I think the exception is that having any living human passenger in addition to the driver allows a vehicle to use the carpool lane, regardless of whether that passenger is licensed to drive.

I don't know but this is a great question.
-
Why not, it's still a body. He just ran out of breath
