HELP!!!! When rushing the net, which of the following is most important in making the first volley? [A] run forward, stop and get set, volley, then move back to home [B] run forward, stop and get set, volley, then back up to the service line. Thanks!

This sounds as if you are taking it for granted that it is a Serve and volley game. In this game are you playing Singles or Doubles as in the last one. It does make a tremendous difference. I am no tennis coach but it is a fact one would need to know even to give a reasonable opinion even not knowing the other players game or your own strength of shot playing.

Just about every coach will tell you that if your prepared for a volley running back and forth won't be a hassle for doubles if you both work. On the other hand, playing singles might be work. It would be easier to run forward , stop and get set, volley, then try to move back to the service line. Remember its harder to run back than forward.
