Boxing is most definitely a sport. Lots of athleticism and skill and talent involved.

Shadow Of The Mind There's no talent in boxing someone's face in the ring. Anyone who likes to bully others physically can easily punch their victim in the face or whatever part of the body they go for and end up in trouble for assault. It is wrong to harm anyone whether you think it is a sport or not. -

More judgemental nonsense from the guy who swears we are all different and all have opinions that we are entitled to, unless they disagree with his opinions. Boxing has been a sport for generations. All the way back to Greco-Roman times boxing has been a sport that honed combat skills. Today it is a sport that both men and women indulge in. It teaches a lot more than violence. It teaches skills to combat violence, discipline and physical fitness. There are several sports from different cultures we call the "martial arts". They are all about personal combat. Maybe you should take up knitting or crocheting if you don't want to box, but don't tell everybody else that there is something wrong with them for boxing. 6/5/25

It’s not judgmental nonsense. Everyone has their own opinions including me and we are all entitled to express them. Unfortunately some people don’t like to listen to other people’s opinions and take them on board because they have selective hearing. You would have to be a control freak to think that everyone should be the same when in fact people are different in how we think, our perceptions, views, personalities, opinions, experiences and philosophies. Boxing may be seen as a sport from those who see nothing wrong getting beaten up. Those who disagree with my opinions are entitled to do so but that is their own choice. Martial arts I don’t mind because the purpose of karate is to defend oneself and creates inner peace unlike boxing. Karate is a defence mechanism against people who like to initiate fights. Since you don’t listen and not understand anything I say, I don’t think I should bother wasting any more words on this topic of conversation. -

Since I don't agree with your "opinion" you mean. ALL martial arts are about self defense, not just the Asian ones you say you like. Here is a control freak response! "If you have a sense of morality you would know that it is wrong to harm another human being and oppose any form of violence from a pacifist point of view." Boxing matches are contests between 2 fighters. Just like any other martial art. A contest to show who is the better fighter. Wear your mouth guard and keep your teeth. -

It’s not a control freak response. That is just your misinterpretation of my words. Since you don’t listen to me I’m not going to waste my breath towards you because you’re like talking to a brick wall. I have said my piece which you don’t take on board which is your loss. I will not continue with this frustrating conversation. You can say what you want after my comment but there is no point in me saying anything else. -

Yes it is, I'm not "misinterpreting" anything. You're clear as a bell in your opinion that only your opinion is valid, again. That is a theme among your q&a here. You toss out some opinion and then act misunderstood when I or somebody else contradicts you. Then you feel misunderstood. It's definitely a pattern. -

There's a lot of discipline in it, there are rules. Boxing has been around for years, take bare knuckle boxing in the fairs etc, at least in the ring their are rules. They know the dangers.
