Because it is a crime that is easy to get away scot-free. Only about one in 17 package thefts are even investigated beyond the cop simply writing a report.

Opportunity not much chance of being caught little consequences if you are caught. Easy crime. why you need gates a fence and a couple of big dogs. Maybe dogs are like their owners get off my lawn. Don't ask how the delivery bloke will make the drop off. If Im getting a delivery, if im not there they cant get in the driveway or they will be bitten.
