  • Been there and done that way back in the 70's. Local Doctor would give out scripts of "black beauties" which was biphetamine20 to make me go fast, then a script of "reds" or Seconal to go to sleep at night. He drew a bunch of attention from the feds after a couple years of that and he had to run off to who knows where then. We never saw him around town again though Half the town slept for a week after he left! 6/24/23

  • No, when I go to a doctor (and I have many) I want real help for my conditions. I have one prescription for a controlled substance. I have 5 tablets left of oxycodone-acetaminophin prescribed 10 weeks ago for post surgical pain. The original prescription was for 10 tablets, but I never finished; them.

  • I go to the VA and take whatever new resident they give me. They all have to learn how to be doctors and I've helped train my share. But I don't just take every pill the doctor gives me. I decide what I should and shouldn't take. I was given a medicine that kept me on the toilet for three days and I lost 12 lbs. It didn't take me but one day to stop taking it! And they give you all the information about the drug plus you can look it up online and decide whether or not it might help you. The VA got a lot more strict with opioids after the big overdose scare a few years back. And rightly so. They were too widely abused.

  • I only know I wouldn't go to a doctor who ordered opiods, other control drugs.
