  • Too bad we can't do that with elected officials eh? Old Joe's big windys are getting up there. Former potus too. They set a fine example.

      No Thanks. Not interested.
  • I'd tell him to take a hike. Filling a job position involves more than just saying "you're hired". Hiring managers have to check employment references and work history - these things cost time and money. It's often said that the starting wage for a job is commensurate with the costs involved in verifying the applicant's job application/resume. If the hiring manager you describe has used company resources only to find that the applicant misrepresented himself, the job offer would no longer be on the table.
  • Of course you'd fire him. On the other hand, if he was elected "by the people" - in other words: it was not YOU, personally and by yourself, who decided whether or not he was to be hired - then YOU could not do anything about it.

Has anyone ASKED those who voted for him under the FALSE assumption that he was an honest man whether they still want him in office??? They might like to have the option to fire him!!! They would still vote for another right winger...just NOT the one that's currently going into office!!!

Well...they don't have that option under the law (as far as I know). They probably DO have the option of impeaching him under the law, and it seems to me that they probably have legal grounds for doing so. (Things like fraud or misrepresentation come to mind.) Whether or not impeachment proceedings can or will be brought against him depends on (1) whether or not he did in fact commit a crime or misdemeanor in New York State - and - (2) whether or not the Republican-majority House of Representatives decides to impeach him (which is to say: votes by majority to initiate impeachment proceedings against him)
  • I'd ask them why, although the answer probably won't change anything. I would most likely not hire them. Also most jobs are offered on a probationary period, and IMO lying is reason enough for firing even though you should write someone up 3 times before firing. It has something to do with unemployment.

I think some confusion about your question arose because you put this in the wrong category. Its under politics. Only staff can change the category once you submit a question. I will flag it as wrong category and they will put it in the right category - if anyone is working here anymore. I have flagged my own questions when I put them in the wrong category
  • NO, I would NOT hire him & I wouldn't vote for someone who made up their entire life either!!!
  • Any company or agency with a professional hiring manager will do the background check before the job is offered. You've all heard the line, "Thank you for coming. We'll let you know." They can't afford to do otherwise.
  • Is the applicant a personal friend? How I know his application has lies on it? Id hire ole mate.
  • Inaccurate or information that you lied about is a HUGE red flag and should keep them from being onboarded. It is also something that could get you fired.
