One reason - Because they came to the country in order to make money for a better way of life compared to their own country, and to send some of that money back home to their families.

For the immigrants that do this, it's because (A) they're desperate for work and (B) they're used to being paid far less for work that is just as difficult

Why work if you don't have to? We live in an entitlement generation - people who would rather collect stimulus checks than do any actual work to support themselves. If you'll study it closely, you'll see that the illegals who don't collect stimulus checks are the ones willing to get their hands dirty. Employers exploit this by offering sub-standard wages. Welcome to the wonderful world of Socialism.
