Do you think I have a bad supervisor for my PhD
I was interested in the research a department was engaged in so I reached out on 2-3 occasions. After getting no response, I paid a visit. I talked to the head who introduced me to a younger PI who said he will be my supervisor. He told me he works with this and this genotype of mouse and plan out a project that I like. I did. Took me a week or two. He said it would be too costly and to rethink the project. After going back and forth, we finally agreed and he told me to look up the price of reagents I need, etc. We had to genotype the mice. I got it rigth the first time. On the second batch, I accidently pipetted to much enzyme so it didnt work out that time. Me and one of the assistance repeated it the second time and got good results. A couple of months ago, I accidently dropped a mouse because it wanted to bite me and I got scared. So me and this PI chased it in the room and eventually caught it. He told me he wants to do a review article and I should start working on it. I sent it to him he told me it had error and I fixed them. He told me he will publish it in early September, he has yet to publish it, which upsets me. Since we are using vertebrate animals for the project, it requires approval. I have never written an approval in my life. He sent me a link to the website and told me to fill it out. I did and sent it back to him. It was too short then it was, then this problem, then that.
