  • I do. Because my mom always did. But now you have me questioning it....

Maybe if they have lots of room in the fridge.. I have a mini-fridge, they were stuffed in there
  • Yes. You should spray them with diluted vinegar. You can also freeze them. I like snacking on frozen grapes. Some people like to use them like ice to chill wine. That way it doesn't get diluted by melting ice. Put one cup vinegar in a quart spray bottle and fill it the rest of the way with water. You can also use this to de-frizz hair, prevent or lessen acne, remove soap scum and as a disinfectant.

Gotta use something! Grapes are known for taking water off you!

Sure, here is the key. Mind the toilet rat, though- he seems rather cheeky today.
  • You should store them in the crisper drawer or the fridge. Refrigerating grapes can keep them from spoiling as quickly, but they have to stay moist. But do not rinse them until they are ready to be eaten, and don't pick them off of the vine, either. Free water encourages bacterial growth and picking them off of the vine opens up a small hole in the protective skin. Just leave them unrinsed and unpicked until the day you eat them. Grapes rinsed and picked will spoil in 24 hours whether refrigerated or not.

I have to pick them off the vine, though.. how else can I eat them?

He said: "Just leave them unrinsed and unpicked until the day you eat them." Of course you can eat the seeds and leaves, but not the vine, though it is a source of water in an emergency!

bostjan, Now I'm gonna have to see if they really will spoil in 24 hours if rinsed or picked. I usually rinse and spray them with vinegar when I get them to prevent bacterial growth and have forgotten them in the back of the fridge and they turned into perfectly good raisins!

Vinegar is actually quite effective at preventing spoilage of fruits like grapes. Ethanol works as well. I think it should be a fun experiment for you, as long as you don't eat the spoiled grapes.

Thanks for clearing that up for me @ Linda Joy
